These 41 games were a failure. Nash missed 6 weeks. Pau and Dwight were never 100% and right at the end, coach managed to wear Kobe out completely. We lost Hill for the season. Fired Mike Brown. Found Earl Clark. We have gotten some good performances from our bench but still no set rotation.

We're games under .500 and 4 games out of the PLAYOFFS.



So , do you think for the second half, we will be 17 wins again...less..or more?

They will do the same, which will not be enough to make the playuoffs - there is nothing we've all seen this year to suggest otherwise.

I think the only thing, as a basketball fan, that I can say is without injuries we will play MUCH better, and the talent eventually rises to the top.


But we do need to make changes to our bench.

Our back-up Guards don't enable Kobe to be able to rest up for the 4th

Slightly worse because the schedule is tougher than it was to start the year. The Lakers had a favorable schedule to kick things off this year, plenty of time to get the momentum going, but they failed to do so.

Now it's not easier at all.

We'll go on a run at some point. But I don't think it will be enough for a comfortable finish. I'm expecting a real tight playoff race until the last minute. Purely speculating, we can win around 27-28 games if we are into it. Will that be enough in the end I don't know. Our margin of error is even less than what it was last year.

They wont be bad, but they won't be good either....They'll miss the playoffs though

Same personnel and system = same result. There is no simple fix to the Lakers' issues.

Depends on if we get Cunningham and if we trade Pau.

As things stand right now our system needs to change and our margin of error is VERY small. So it's an uphill battle to be honest. Very uphill. Luckily the Rockets and the Blazers have been stinking worse than us. What's worse if if we beat Toronto and Chicago we'd be a half game out of the playoffs and no one would be talking. But we didn't. And we haven't.

The problem is that this system needs to change and run plays according to everyone's strengths. And also, Dwight needs to work on his post game, stop turning the ball over, and saying he only got 5 touches last game. He had free throws..and he turned the ball over. i'm willing to bet he had somewhere close between 15 touches last night. He needs to not throw stat sheets around before someone actually looks into it.


Anyway. As we stand right now we can't win a majority of our next games if the system doesn't change and some players IN the system also have to change.

PRIMARILY Nash and Dwight.

Dwight needs to stop looking to get the ball off double teams and start setting people up out of double teams for one. And Nash needs to look to use Kobe and Dwight as decoys to get himself open shots. Nash and Dwight need to change what they are doing for us to be effective. Thing is, Nash seems to be trying to, finally, Dwight still seems to only want to play it one way. And that is a problem. One of many.

We won't do any better unless changes are made.

We have nothing to build on at all.. we're just a lost team that plays with no intensity on either end and we'll be bad unless something is changed
