KEVIN DING ‏@KevinDing
Pau Gasol is out as Lakers' starter, Mike D'Antoni said. Permanently.

D'Antoni already talked to Pau Gasol about the switch to the bench.

About that, D'Antoni said: "That's ...life. He understands." D'Antoni also said: "It also puts Pau in his natural position. He's one of the best centers in the league." Gasol will get some post touches off the bench, and the Lakers hope Clark changes them with athleticism. D'Antoni said it gives them "a little more bounce to our step."

This is a desperate gamble by D'antoni. From a front office perspective, getting benched lowers his trade value even further. Be interesting to see how Pau's defender (Kobe) reacts. I am still envisioning a player mutiny. Bring in Tree Rollins...player coach time.

I hope he does well at backup C, and he and Dwight don't play at the same time.

Kudos to D'Antoni for making the decision. Let's see if it actually sticks.

Pau helped the Lakers organization and Kobe a lot. Does he have gas in the tank to help more? Maybe yes, maybe no but forgive me for questioning Mike D's decision making on anything. If PJ was coach would he trade Pau? Probably not. I dont expect Mike D to be the coach long and I hope he doesnt gut us while hes here.

Great job by Pringles, not going to lie though, I feel like this is all part of D'Antoni's plan to break Pau and get him to demand a trade.

SportsCenter@SportsCenter
Mike D'Antoni says Pau Gasol will come off the bench for the Lakers moving forward. Earl Clark will take over as LA's starting PF.

Dantoni saying what we've all been saying. That elbow to the nose opened the door for this.

Lol balls by pringles? This was inevidable he sure isnt going to bench dwight. MDA is trying anything possible to get W. Same thing with Brown it seemed he had a line up every other quarter. Metta stsrting metta off the bench etc etc. Pau didnt fit from the start. When we hired MDA his future and the Lakers was all but set in stone.
