Im just starting to learn everything my PS3 does...lol. Serious if theres no major hardware or graphic enhancements wtf is the point? Social gaming is not the foundation of gaming, its an extension of. And if Sony is going to pretend otherwise itll be a PS4ail.
Whos gonna spend $500-600 for the same thing they already have, but with very limited game selection for the first few years. And playing PS3 games on it wont be possible....lol.

I was reading something yesterday @ work about how Sony is focusing more on social aspects on the new PS4 and how users interact with the console rather than the hardware/visual aspects of it. I did not like that at all.

Leave all that tweeting/FB updates/instagraming and sharing stuff to smartphones/tablets/laptops/desktops and focus on improving visuals/audio for games and making it the best next gen console.

You'd think the BC would be a given too, but knowing them, they'll find a way to screw that up.

Sony s gonna be stupid again and make a ridiculously price game console and put it out around the same time as the new xbox which may not be as good but it will be much more affordable. There is a reason why the xbox 360 dominated the PS3.

Its cheaper and you can modify it as much as you want. Also programmed in andriod so java engineers will love it.

xbox came out a year earlier. When xbox 360 came out PS2 was still selling. Not really a ridiculous price when you looked at it. A blue ray player alone 5 year ago would cost you upwards of 400 noone really had one.

Probably because they still want tO sell ps3 consoles. Its dumb i agree espeually considerin games were 60 a piece.

Feb. 20 will be the day we should know everything about it. Currently have a PS3 but might go for the next Xbox if it's better.

While it is already known thanks to the devkit that the PS4 will run on AMD's chips, speculations say that the console will be able to render games at 240 frames a second. This would be an extreme upgrade, as the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 can only run games at 30 or 60 fps. While it is possible for a high-end PC to run games at 240 fps, it is only possible in many cases if the graphics settings of the games are stripped down to their lowest. Even many PC games these days are locked at 30 or 60 fps.

sounds like useless stats to drive up the price of the console

you wouldnt be able to see any real difference above 60FPS anyway

Sony and Microsoft's apparent strategy for next-gen consoles:
Last thing I want to say about this is that it seems like Microsoft and Sony are taking different approaches. Microsoft are going with slower DDR RAM but more of it, they seem to be "saving" a lot of RAM for OS functions, in other words it looks like Microsoft have some sort of plans, maybe Kinect 2.0 or something. Sony on the other hand went with less RAM but it is faster GDDR RAM and Sony are also seemingly spending more money on the GPU. In other words the way it looks the PS4 will be engineered to be a pure gaming machine with more power, the 720 will fall in between the PS4 and Wii U in terms of power. It's interesting though because Microsoft are intent on saving a lot of money on memory and GPU from the looks of it and then they allocate a lot of RAM for some sort of software function. I'm thinking maybe it might actually be true that Kinect 2.0 is going to ship with all 720's, I thought it would be too expensive but considering how much they would save by going for slower RAM and a lower powered GPU and the fact that they are allocating a huge 3GB to software functions Kinect 2.0 makes sense. I have to confess I am a little disappointed with Microsoft's direction and I like the fact that Sony are so intent on lavishing every penny on making it a monster console. The two consoles from the looks of it should cost around the same but a lot of the money for the 720 will seemingly go to Kinect 2.0 while Sony will invest all that money in faster RAM and a more powerful GPU.
