That would be hilarious. We should take a stroll over to Staples and throw some duct tape over the mouth of Magic's statue. Perhaps he'll get the message.

2- Doubt that a trade would happen in that scenario because they have nothing besides Dirk who is old and maybe Mayo but other than that nothing in that roster.
3- You know damn well Mitch is not trading Dwight and if he did you bet your ass LA would get the best of the trade.

LOL and you think Magic would listen to them? Dude is an analyst. He's gonna continue to run his mouth. No one will stop him. Only thing we can do is start winning and that will shut him up.It is about time someone from Lakers organization told him to shut up.

but I doubt he's gonna re-sign with us so I wouldn't mind getting a couple first round draft picks plus a few good players for him....not the Mavs though they have nobody to offer

Where would he go? Dallas looks like they are on the verge of completely turning irrelevant with a struggling Nowitzki who is unhappy. Atlanta is on the verge of trading Josh Smith, their only hope of luring Dwight to his hometown.I wouldn't trade him to the Mavs because they have no one to offer

One thing that the Lakers have over any other team is the proven track record to spend money and build a team around their star players to compete.

I want Howard on our team long term as well
but we have to be realistic and realize he will probably leave us the way things are going

He has to realize that the team's struggles are not just about the other 13 guys on the roster. He knows that by him not being 100% healthy so far this season he cannot be the same guy he was in Orlando. Although the guy is putting up great numbers, he is just now beginning to show his true form. I can think of so many reasons why he will stay.I want Howard on our team long term as well

1. It is LA. One of the largest markets in the world.
2. It is the Lakers. A very storied franchise.
3. The Lakers build around star players.
4. They can offer $20 million more than any other team.
5. No other team can offer the same type of talent that we can.
6. Brooklyn really isn't an option for him anymore.
7. His reputation has already taken a huge hit, why would he want to damage it any more by being known as the guy that destroyed the Lakers and ruined Kobe's final seasons?
The list goes on and on.

the last point only pertains to laker fans doubt anyone besides us would be mad at him leaving. People already hate us and they would just say serves the lakers right for trying to buy a title. He has to realize that the team's struggles are not just about the other 13 guys on the roster.
