This team needs more hustle, dirty work guys than stars...

I agree. Ppg is not what we should be looking at. Don't get me wrong, I realize the value of statistics of course, but we need guys who provide the type of plays that don't show up on the stat sheet.

Cunningham has his uses, especially at the defensive end, where his mobility is a major plus in pick-and-roll defense and any kind of rotating or trapping scheme. He ranked in the top third of power forwards in both blocks and steals per minute, he had a low foul rate, and his metrics were solid. His lone weakness at this end is a poor defensive rebound rate.

I know he's not the perfect player. He's extremely limited in what he can do offensively. No post moves, no 3-point range, can't create off the dribble.

But what he can do is play defense, finish at the rim, and he's actually capable of running. He's young, he's long, he's athletic. I'm by no means suggesting we trade Pau for this guy straight up, but he's the type of player this team has been missing.

Nah. Because he gives decent consistency. He also is a voice on this team. He's not someone to give in. I like him.

It might. I'm not familiar with his game. But from what I hear, if we can get him for cheap (chris duhon) that will give us the freedom to trade Gasol for a point guard and a sf, we will have enough depth at the 4 to be able to do this.

Btw for those not sold on Cunningham, he is really that type of player that Mitch likes to go out and get that ends up producing for us (Trevor Ariza, Shannon Brown, Jordan Hill, etc).
