[wvlaker]

If we continue to play as we are now our record will end at 45-37. Towards the end of the year our final 15 games really favor us with a majority of the losses coming over the next month a half. In this scenario I have us winning 0 games against OKC, LAC, and MIA. And only 1 road game against current playoff teams. That game being against the Bucks.

If the Lakers can play just a little better and find 5 wins out of these games I currently have them losing and assuming they still get 0 wins against the big 3 I already mentioned they will get to 50-32:

If we can manage to win 45 games as you have predicted I would easily take that. I highly doubt we win 50 games. We will be challenged to even win 45

I doubt 50. But yes I do think we will make playoffs after I went through the entire schedule. We will ber flirting with .500 in a couple weeks and that will probably go on for a month and a half then at the last 3 weeks we will have a ton of easier games to get our record up.

First off I highly doubt we'd get swept by Oklahoma City. Last season we were able to win one game against them and that was when we obviously didn't have Dwight and Nash.

I know they gave us a beatdown last week, but obviously Dwight didn't play.

Second we don't know that OKC would be our matchup. Could be them, San Antonio, the Clippers, or Memphis.

The Lakers would have to go on a tear to get into the playoffs (assuming the 48 win mark) and that alone should inspire enough confidence that they'll do more damage than just a 1st round exit.

It's a good way to make sure Dwight doesn't record his first season as a Laker as a non-playoff year...which makes it likely it would be his last season as a Laker as well.

Also, it doesn't give Kobe more of an incentive to retire early.

Also, we don't have a draft pick, so missing the play-offs does us no good (other than giving us more rest).

If we can sneak in, and get a match-up with LAC, we can probably compete and possibly pull an upset. Maybe SAS, as well.

If we get 50 wins it will be because we will become consistent and a better team overall and that remains to be seen. All my hope rests with how we are playing now in this "new season" if we go back to losing then we will win roughly 35-41 games if we turn it around and start beating most of the average teams then we might have a chance to win around 45 which should get us in the playoffs but 50 sounds hard.

It actually isnt. If you go through the scheduale its actually quite possible. We just need to beat all the very bad teams then beat most of the ok teams then maybe win a few of the good teams(like 2-3 ) and surprisingly we would have it.

Though people shouldn't expect any type of showing of this until the last few week when we have a ton of easier games.
