The Los Angeles Lakers are skeptical of completing a significant trade ahead of the Feb. 21 NBA trade deadline.
"We don't have many options," Mitch Kupchak said Wednesday. "It's not like we're going to be active or overly active in the trade market."
The Lakers' most likely would trade Pau Gasol if a major trade is executed.
The Lakers have dealt with injuries throughout the season, making a full evaluation of their roster difficult for Kupchak.

Lakers Apply For Disabled Players Exception

The Los Angeles Lakers have applied for a disabled players exception for Jordan Hill.
Hill will have surgery on his left hip and is expected to be out at least six months.
The move would give them an additional $1.78 million in spending either to sign a free agent or acquire a player making slightly more than that through a trade.

Bascially, they wouldn't of done this without the "intent" on bringing someone in....who...we don't know yet.

Certainly have options, but I wonder if they are hesitant to do a Gasol deal because of the decrease in value.

Get bench players for pau its way better than trading him for another starting 4.

But i do understand the FO is hesitant to make the trade since Howard might not sign , which i doubt, but its still a possibilty.

I could see them holding back this time. The Lakers aren't ones to make rash moves, and they might wait to "build chemistry with a healthy team" even though that's complete bull[expletive] and Pau needs to go.
