Lakers forward Gasol missed his third consecutive game because he hasn't received medical clearance after seeing neurologist Dr. Vern Wiliams three separate times this week, including Friday morning. He will make another visit Saturday in hopes to play in the Lakers' game Sunday against Cleveland.

Whenever he returns, Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni vowed that he will feature Gasol inside more.

" There's going to be a lot of changes," D'Antoni said, citing the Lakers' 15-20 record heading into Friday's game against the Thunder.

"We have to try to do everything. If that works, we'll do it in a heartbeat."

Lakers executive vice president of player personnel Jim Buss suggest Gasol play inside more, but D'Antoni insists the front office hasn't advised him to make such a move.

"We talked about it but they let me coach," D'Antoni said. "It's pretty evident we'd like to get him more touches down there."

So I guess they aren't trying to get rid of him?

I think the Lakers should try to feature more post ups overall, and play inside-out from there. Problem is that spacing sucks when you have Gasol and Dwight out there. Gasol really should come off the bench, but that'll never happen.

We should be running a slow-paced tempo and limit three point shots if they aren't going in. That way we wouldn't have many TO, and long rebounds that lead to fast break points..

I hope they do run the ball through Pau in the post. I remember a few seasons ago, when Pau touched the ball on the offensive end (touched, not shot) our offensive efficiency was in the 68-75%.
We NEED to find a way to make Pau and Drew co exist down there and compliment each other. We need to fix our spacing. Play inside out. Not whatever the hell we do now. It would help if we could hit a 3 shot with semi consistency. Defenses our just letting Ron shoot them at this point. And he misses badly. So bad. smh.

Even if Pau does get to the post he will still either get bullied out of it or go up half assed and expect a foul. He isn't the same Pau as 3 years ago and I don't get why people still think he is.

Can the lakers devise a play to keep Dantoni off the court and away from the bench?

What really is irritating me more than anything else is that he doesn't address defense.

Our offense is fine, it's our defense giving up 115 ppg that is the issue. I don't care if you put Dwight Howard at the three point line or put Kobe in the post, what are you going to do defensively to improve in that area?
