RT @mcten: Amazing stat: No guard has ever averaged over 15 points in his 17th season or later (Kobe Bryant is averaging 30.1 points this season)

Pretty astounding to think about and he's doing it efficiently as well.

It's a pity the Lakers are wasting Kobe's greatest year ever in terms of scoring efficency. However, Kobe's D is the worst I've seen from him in the last 10 years.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

I remember reading somewhere that the previous highest was Reggie Miller who was averaging 14 and some change at 33-34

Kobe's doubling that! Amazing!

Seriously a piece of me will die when Kobe retires, gonna be a sad [expletive]ing day.. I literally grew up watching this guy

I would have to agree, he has been sucking on defense.

He played 15 seasons.

It's amazing to see Kobe play at this level, not so amazing watching the team though lol

He would've been able to, if he didn't have that early retirement in 1993. At 34-35 years old, Jordan averaged 29 PPG.

Tack on those extra two seasons, and then add two more (he would have been 36-37 in his 17th season), he would have been able to average 20+ easily. At 40 years old, he averaged that in Washington.

Knees were pretty bad, who's to say he wouldn't have had a Karl Malone moment if he would have kept going...You just never know

But I'm surprised that Dr. J didn't do it

IDK, two more years of pounding on those bad knees might not have allowed him to don that Wizards jersey. At the end he was playing on pride & skill.

Kobe's D has been sub-far this year. Hes playing okay and plays amazing when it matters during the game

he lollygags far too much on d playing passing lanes more than anything else. He has usually always given up the 3 to players. too much help defense instead of focusing on his man. but if needed he can check some1 for a quarter
