"I still believe the Lakers can make the playoffs," Phil Jackson said in an email to The Times. "They might have to have a 'come to Jesus' moment to get their defense in order, but they have the talent."

Phil still believes. I believe. If the Lakers only get to the 8th seed when the playoffs come, I believe they can wit it all. Rockets did it when they were in 7th place in '95. I know it's a different sport but hell, do it like the L.A. Kings did last year. A 8th place team winning it all. Go Lakers!

Strange thing is we score 103.2 ppg and we allow 101.7 so on average we score more than we give up which in basketball you would think would transfer into more wins than losses. The problem is that under mike brown we held teams to 98.8 ppg but we couldn't score scoring only 97.2 ppg , under Mike D'antoni we can score alot of points but we allow 104.2 ppg. Only time we put it both together was under bickerstaff when we scored 103.8 ppg and allowed only 92.2 ppg .

If we can just start playing D in every quarter we can do it. And the scary thing for other teams should be that our offence isn't even running at optimal yet. So if the lakers can play the D they played under Bickerstaff or even under brown combine that with their O under D'antoni then we should be rolling.

I'd like to believe that, but the Lakers dug themselves in such a deep hole, and the injuries plagued in this team makes it worse.

This team isn't done in my eyes until they are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Just like when they are in the playoffs, they aren't done till they lose that 4th game in a series.

We just gotta keep hope they turn it around. I'm not giving up on this team. This has been a disaster no one envisioned but this is still my team and you go through the great times (and we've had plenty of them) as well as the low points.

Weak.

For Kobe being your idol, you sure don't follow what he's about. He'd be disgusted with you.

If kobe played better defense we wouldnt [expletive]ing lose, his preformance in the last quarters make him look good and everyone forgets anout his [expletive]ty first half. I feel like he doesnt give a [expletive] anymore, hes missing A LOT of FTs, guy doesnt want to win.

Yea, it's definitely Kobe who doesn't want to win. He should really take a hint from the rest of the team. Oh, wait...

Can we get to around .500 by the All-Star break? If Dwight and Pau are back within the next 2 weeks, I say YES. Can we go on a mini-run after the All-Star break and end up 7-9 games above .500?

Again I say yes...

Some of the teams ahead of us have had injuries that should bring them down a bit. And younger teams kinda lose steam in those last 2 months. I think Houston and GS will a biut. I also think Portland and Utah have a chance to. But all we can truly worry about is next week. We aren't winning tonight, most likely, so we will be 6 under .500 , and we need to make a run after that

Phil slightly insinuating that he is, indeed, Jesus Christ.
