Next 5 games for those teams respectively:
Lakers 15-20
vs. Thunder
vs Cavaliers
vs. Bucks
vs. Heat
@ Raptors
-----
vs. Jazz
Blazers 19-15
vs. Heat
@ Warriors
vs. Thunder
@ Nuggets
vs. Cavaliers
Jazz 19-18
@ Hawks
@ Pistons
vs. Heat
vs. Cavaliers
vs. Wizards
-----
@ Lakers
Wolves 16 - 16
@ Pelicans
@ Spurs
@ Mavs
vs. Clippers
vs. Rockets
If we can go 4-1, losing either Thunder or Heat game, we will have 19-21 record and let's say we'll also win the Jazz game with that momentum, it'd put us just one game behind .500 . Blazers could lose 4 games in their next 5 games, and that would place them at 20-19 record. Jazz have somewhat easier schedule than other two. But I'll say they may lose 4 of next 6 including our game, which would make them 21-22. And Wolves could very well lose their next 5 games.
So, as you see winning in short term could fix some psychological issues with help from other teams. Of course, we do need to break the 5-game losing streak first but I'm hopeful. At the end of that short term schedule we might look at such a view on standings heading into second half of the season which is not bad at all considering our situation.
8 - Blazers 20-19
9 - Lakers 20-21
10 - Jazz 21-22
11 - Wolves 16-21
