While I was in L.A. this weekend, I spoke with 4 @Lakers that told me the team dedicates only 15-20 minutes of practice time to defense

From the results there isn't enough time in the day to fix their problems.

Practices, I'm told, are about 75-90 minutes long.

Lol practices are either "Too Long"(Mike Brown) or "Too little"(Mike D'Antoni).

I want to know how they run their defensive practices. This team is not even doing the basics.

Hustle back after you score

Close out when you contest a shot

COMMUNICATE- I cannot hear what they are saying on the court, but there seams to be no sort of communication whatsoever from this team. We see all the team. There is always a player wide open...Someone not knowing who to cover......Who gets who in transition defense.

These things are taught in high school. NBA coaches shouldn't waste practice time teaching these things. The biggest disappointment to me is the lack of energy. Simply no heart defensively. The only defense this team plays is when they is five minutes remaining in the 4th quarter and they try to make a run.

Huh, 15 whole minutes yet we're giving up at least 100 a game?

Mitch needs to step in and f'ing wreak havoc. Our defense is this bad, and you're STILL only practicing for 15 minutes?

THIS TIMES 5 BARRILLION. MITCH NEEDS TO HAVE A CONVO WITH ANTONI; THE D IS OBVIOUSLY,OBVIOUSLY HORRID

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

Seriously, there's only a few coach who preach defense 100 percent. Unfortunately, most of them already have a job.

Until this team improves defensively, everyone should just call him 'Antoni.

The coaches need to lock the players in the gym for 2-3 hours at a time just to work on defense. If the players complain, take it to the NBAPA They might get easier practices if they actually show something in the game.
