I agree fully. I couldn't care less how much Pau gets paid. If he can't be traded, then I rather him come off the bench at this point in time. Clark is not a better player than Pau, but he does everything that Pau doesn't do. Defends on the perimiter, contests shots consistently, hustles, and grabs boards with his athleticism. He plays with a motor that Pau just doesn't have. Kobe (being dialed in on defense), Artest, Clark, and Dwight is the team's best defensive line up and it can cause problems for opposing teams.

The offense can still run fluidly with Nash in the line up also. Pau isn't even needed in the starting line up for the offense to be smooth.

I agree with you, plus when Clark starts we can have him defend any of the opposing teams players, and clearly Pau can't guard anybody.

Having Pau a starter might mess with the whole "Kobe is going to guard the best perimeter player."

The Lakers just cannot have Pau (at the PF position) and Nash on the floor together at the same time. The team is already hiding Nash on the opposing team's weakest offensive player, and add Pau to the mix and it's trouble. He can't guard PF's in this league. With Clark starting, you have another defender who can guard multiple positions and hiding Nash doesn't compromise the team's defense.

That decision comes when his contract expires, after a couple of career starts.

he will never be healthy again his prime years & prime "legs" are shot. We can only hope he regains his mental edge & starts playing smart like Duncan (with all his physical disabilities but somehow still manages to be very effective)

Yes, Duncan is a 1st ballot fall of famer, and Pau will be there too once he hangs it up (hopefully sooner than later) but I would NEVER compare the two.

Duncan is on a whole other level!!!

Pau would work great with the 2nd unit. In late game situations we should have Pau in the last few minutes. Our 6th man.

I think he meant that Duncan is a better player. And that's because of his mental toughness. Pau maybe the better talent but Duncan is the better player no doubt about it.

I understand that but that still doesnt excuse why Pau looks so pathetic cuz he is out of shape on "dead legs" only (did he forget how to score any way except on a wide open shot?) ! He is at a better physical level vs Duncan. Both are smart players (obviously the edge goes to Duncan) but if Duncan can find a way to do the #s he is doing with all that talent on Spurs = there is no excuse for Pau.

Earl Clark is the only bright spot on this team. Dream Team? Jokes.
