One of Ron Artest's potential new teammates isn't getting off on the right foot with the forward, the Houston Chronicle and Sacramento Bee reported Thursday.

Houston Rockets center Yao Ming worried about team chemistry when he first heard of the reported trade for Artest, the newspaper reported, and Artest isn't happy about it.

"Hopefully, he's not fighting anymore and going after a guy in the stands," Yao said, the Chronicle reported.

Artest said Yao had bought into "all the propaganda" about him, the Bee reported.

"I understand what Yao said, but I'm still ghetto," Artest said, the Bee reported. "That's not going to change. I'm never going to change my culture. Yao has played with a lot of black players, but I don't think he's ever played with a black player that really represents his culture as much as I represent my culture. Once Yao Ming gets to know me, he'll understand what I'm about.

Ironically, Yao's statement might be the one breaking the chemistry of the team more than Artest.

Your right. because of that comment there is going to be more tension in the locker room. and eventually players will butt heads.

Well the Yao comment could have been a joke in context. But Artest could have not talked to the press, settled it with Yao personally, and prevented even more drama.

Sad thing is that he hasn't even done anything yet. If there's tension in the Rockets clubhouse between the team and Artest, then you can blame Yao. Already breaking up the team...at least it's not the Lakers clubhouse

This has a recipe for disaster. This is the exact reason why I didn't want Artest, he WILL cause chemistry issues. In fact, his reputation itself is enough to cause troubles.

 Kinda funny, I expected SOMETHING to happen, but not this soon. Hilarious.

If he punches TMac in the face, what makes you think he won't punch someone in the face here?

At least Yao is worried for his team. It is after all his team and as the leader he doesn't want anyone messing up the great team chemistry they already have.
