Over the years, the Lakers have played really well when an important player has been gone.That's all we can really hope for at this point.
Not quite sure about this team though. The Lakers troubles this season aren't like any recent Laker team. Even the Lakers last season didn't struggle this much.

Kobe tore his labrum dunking over that big white dude from Minny in the 2003 play-offs. Had surgery on it right before he went to Colorado, IIRC.

Just shut the team down, lol. Regroup, maybe get a new head coach, make a few trades, come back strong next season. Pau's expiring next season will be valuable. If nothing else, you have massive cap space in two summers. I'm fairly confident Dwight will resign, so if you can get another star in his prime next to him, this team is in great position. I'm not too worried about the long term prospects. It's the short term that depresses me.

These injuries probably weren't caused by age, but the Lakers should've accounted for players missing time because of the age of this team and Dwight coming back from a major injury.
It's really sad how this roster continues to show it's flaws.
