Though many fans would like to kick him out now, for sure, the Lakers won't fire him this deep in the season, but if the Lakers don't make it to the playoffs, will he still be accepted as coach next season?

the lakers can't afford to keep firing and hiring coaches. Even when they don't make the playoffs this season, they still going to keep him.

He's laughing - If we fire him, he walks with 12 million for doing nothing.

Is this even a serious question?

If the lakers don't get the playoffs this guy is out.

I think this D'Antonio experiment is done this seaso. Only way i see him coaching LAL next season is of the team gets very good starting next game and finish the season strong.

Changes for sure this season: Gasol trade

If he is secured,we gonna be stuck with playing no defense for next 3-4 years.

Yes. Much as you'd all hate to admit it.

It's fairly obvious that a lot of our problems have to do with some of the players within the roster.

And a lot of you guys need to come to grips with the fact that even a defensive coach wouldn't make Gasol, Jamison and Nash into defensive stoppers nor would they make Meeks more dependable.

You had a defensive coach that had us a top 10 offensive and defensive, but you kept complaining about the offense taking too long to learn.

You have an offensive coach that has a team full of guys that don't understand defense enough to become good at it or aren't gonna be putting their effort into that aspect of the game

Because quite frankly they aren't here for that.

Mitch is well aware by now that our defensive issues are lineup wise.

if we went out and got another defensive coach NOTHING would change.

It's up to the players to understand defense and angles, it can be preached to them all day but no matter what you do Antawn is not gonna become a stopper. Gasol isn't going to hedge pick and rolls effectively and Steve Nash isn't gonna turn into Chris Paul.

You need better defensive pieces AROUND us first.

Mitch is of the mind that he's gonna start removing players because he's done replacing coaches.

So yes, Mike D'antoni's job is safe. It's the players that need to be on pins and needles.

Management will probably build a team better fit for his system.

Pretty much.

It's up to the players to perform. They ALREADY replaced a coach. It's time to start holding some players accountable.

He's almost definitely HC to start next season. If he gets fired, Bernie B. will probably coach the rest of next season.

Bernie just had fun and knows how to talk to the players. Even the players enjoyed his coaching
