We need a defensive coach/coordinator more than anything else...

That's not what I'm seeing on the court for the Lakers. That's why we are giving up so many points. That's why we have to work for hard on offense. That's why we are getting outrebounded.
Dear Lakers Brass,
If you are serious about winning a Championship this year, please find anyone to teach this group of individuals how to play defense together...
Sincerely,
A Concerned Lakers Fan

Calling it right now:
Andrew Wiggins will be better than LeBron James.

This team was terrible defensively under a good defensive coach in Mike Brown too.

Some of you guys need to understand that D'Antoni is going anywhere anytime soon.
Then neither is LA

No defensive coordinator will help us, as long as this garbage coach is still employed by us. He needs to go.

Liked our all around body language as a team early.
The problems with this team are going to be more apparent as the other people start to come around.
Dwight is starting to look like Dwight again minus the two bad plays at the end of the game he was running the floor and almost had a career high in rebounding.
Kobe had a bad night till it came time to close and was amazing in the close as usual.
Gasol was aggressive for a half, and did nothing in the 2nd half.
Duhon was alright till the defense realized he wasn't going to take or make any shots so they locked down defensively and Duhon was unable to contribute anything at that point.
Hill was strong, what else is new
Meeks was good early, got cold late, hustled, but his defense leaves something to be desired.
Obvious problems that need to go on this team are Gasol, and our bench point guard.
One of the biggest issues when it comes to our bench point guard is that with Morris he's turnover prone and inexperienced.
With Duhon he's experienced but he is NOT a scoring threat so teams can play riskier defense they can't get away with when someone like Nash is in.
We have no bench 3 unless you count Jamison..and just no at that point.
What we need is a bench 3 and a bench 1 that can score.
This is why getting Barea and Williams from Minnesota and Ariza from Washington is probably the best trade option the Lakers are gonna get and would help the team in each aspect.
We have Steve Clifford who with Dwight Howard helped bring Orlando's defense to near top in the league. Steve Clifford is a defensive coach the problem is you don't have many defensive players.
I'll give you our defensive players on this team
Metta
Kobe
Dwight
That's it
Borderline to below average
Hill
Meeks
Duhon
Nash
Nothing left to offer on that end
Gasol
Jamison
This team needs defensive "players".
Barea and Williams from Minnesota for the scoring and athleticism our bench needs(aside from Hill and Meeks)
Ariza from Washington(defensive 3 for the bench)
Fixes our problems in that aspect
If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.
You should reach more often

Like I keep saying, I think it's hard physically for the older players on this team to play defense against more atheltic players. Especially when they're playing the heavy minutes that they are. Kobe, Metta, Pau, and Nash all have trouble keeping up.

Until the entire team decides to play hard on defense, it won't matter who they bring in.
And we HAVE one of the most underrated defensive coaches in the game Steve Clifford.
It ain't the defensive coaching it's the fact that some of the players we have don't play defense aside from perhaps 3.
