What if...the Lakers staged a mutiny and just ran the triangle without MDA's input?

It's late on Saturday night and it's raining, so my mind is going crazy.

Some might not like the precedent they'd be setting, but I'd love to see this team win a few ballgames. Right now, they look worse than the Gary Payton-Karl Malone Lakers.

OFFENSE IS NOT A PROBLEM

It's more of a problem than you think. Look at the turnovers. Look at the number of 3 point shots. A 3 point shooting team rarely does well in the NBA. Dwight's not getting the ball where it's easy to score. Kobe is working too much. Back-up point guards don't know what to do. Long 3 point shots lead to long rebounds, which lead to fastbreak points for the opposing team.

Believe me, the offense is a problem.

those 3 point shots are just apart of the system we run now

we dont run a half court system anymore

Not to mention a majority of those 3 points shots are WIDE OPEN as is the layups we missed.

The sheer fact that we were able to fight back into games where neither the three point shot or interior shot were falling with regularity is an amazing thing in itself.

Even if offense was the problem, only 4 of the players (maybe 3 as I'm not sure if MWP fully understand the triangle) have run it in game. The rest of the team will need to be taught and it's not something they'll just pick up in a few days.

The deliberate nature of the triangle slows the game down, which benefits an older team and definitely helps to protect the knees - and careers - of our key players.

Well a lot of us have this fantasy that the Lakers magically would get better if Phil was coaching the team. The triangle would be a part of that fantasy.

Yes, this team is worse than a team that won 56 games and went to the finals.

In other news, basketballs are round.
