Kobe

Kobe on playing with Dwight/Shaq: "Shaq and I were a different dynamic. You're not going to find another duo like that ever."

Kobe: "You'll never find a duo with two dominant personalities like myself and Shaquille. "

Kobe on alpha male dynamic with Shaq: "I sacrificed quite a bit with individual numbers and MVPS and NBA Finals and all this other stuff."

Dwight

Dwight: "If you're an alpha male, you don't have to always show that you're the alpha male. Just be who you are."

Dwight: "It's not about making your mark or going around pissing everywhere. You don't have to do that."

Dwight: "My presence is felt every day and I don't have to come here and growl and snarl at people."

Dwight asked me to define "alpha male" behavior. I said: "It's a dominant, everybody get out of my way, I'm the man attitude"

Dwight said: "That's not being an alpha male. If you're an alpha male, you don't have to always show that you're the alpha male."

Hes being a little b1tch right now because hes not playing well and hes not able to physically make an impact on the team. Hes not being dominant right now like he used to be. Obviously losing games have a part in this but basically hes frustrated he cant dominate games like he could before. THe healing process has been slower than he thought and it pisses him off dudes like Javale, Koufous, DeAndre and Turiaf have been getting the better off him for small stretches here and there. Hes pretty dumb to ignore Nash's advice earlier in the year for Free throw issues and now our teams issues not falling in line next to Kobe whos the winner here. Whatever Dwight

Basically he's saying that you can be an alpha male without being an a-hole about it as long as your presence is felt.

Him and Kobe have different opinions about it because they both express it different ways.

Nothing to see here.

Kobe knows how badly Dwight wants to win and vice versa. So I take nothing from these comments other than they both attack the game in different ways as is their opinion on alpha males indicative of their personalities. Nothing surprising.

They BOTH see themselves as alpha males and both have differing opinions as to what the definition of one means to them.

So what?

I do like that Dwight is speaking up though. He shouldn't stay quiet but at the same time make sure you're playing well enough to speak up

Dwight played well against the Clippers last night.

Our best players this year thus far have been
Kobe
Dwight
Artest
Hill

They are fine to speak up I think should they feel like it imo.

Artest will never speak, lol.

Media wise, that is.

That's fine as long as Howard delivers championships like other Laker centers before him.

I have absolutely no problem with what either player said but it does show some chemistry issues...

Don't make nothing into something, seriously, there's enough of that concerning the Lakers already. What both players said was fine.

You want a worrying quote, go find that one where Pau said it's "not his job" to involve himself on offense.

My God. We're becoming the laughing stock/center of scrutiny throughout the [expletive]ing league. Embarrassing and it should be. These guys need to get a grip.

While I think this is pretty meaningless, I don't think Kobe and Dwight really "click" that much. Or at least they haven't thus far.

Just imo.

How? Cause from where I'm sitting Kobe and Dwight aren't the problem.

Know who aren't clicking? Kobe and Gasol... or Nash and Gasol.

Both click with and have been dumping assists to Dwight.

Problem in Laker land has nothing to do with Dwight and Kobe's and Nash dynamic, that is evolving.

Yeah, no [expletive] Sherlock.

It's just a feeling I have. May be wrong, and it wasn't something I intended to have to really justify (but you being you...). Not necessarily something that is going to be glaring on the court. As far as I'm concerned, Kobe and Dwight are playing fine. Personality wise, they just kind of seem weird together.
