At this point in the season, do you think we can still contend to win the championship? They have yet to reach over .500 after playing 31 games and are clearly struggling this season. What do you think?

In all honesty, I don't think they will unless some major changes happen to the team.

Depends.

But no we won't if we kept playing the way we're playing right now.

I don't expect us to play this way all season though.

As of right now we wouldn't win a Championship.

At the end of January hopefully we'll have a more clear look at things.

It really won't be one little thing that fixes us, there's a multitude.

We need consistent effort on all cylinders, from our two bigs especially.

If Pau and Dwight play aggressively each game we probably go on a run.

However that's not all that needs to change. Even if Pau and Dwight played aggressive for 20 games and we went 20-0 to end January there's still some things we need to fix on consistent defensive rotations, help defense, and knowing when and when not to over help.

But no, definitely not winning a Championship if we played the way we're playing now by April.

I don't expect us to be though. So I think we'll turn it around and become a contender, but if we're playing the way we are now by April, then no.

So Yes I think we can and will :)

But I'm positive we won't if we keep playing like we did today.

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

You should reach more often ;)

Yes we can. We definitely have the talent. Will we? I have my doubts. If we don't pick up some sort of winning streak this month, it won't look too pretty for us.

Yes, if we make the playoffs (which is our biggest challenge) I don't fear any team aside from OKC. I think this team at full strength can beat any other NBA team in a 7-game series without HCA.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Ha, this team doesn't even look close to even making the playoffs right now let alone winning the championship.

These idiots keep this up and .500 ball in the West ain't getting you nowhere except for an early vacation.

Nah not this season. THis season is the transition season. We might get to the semi-finals and at best WCF. But we will get beat its too far into the season for us to recover properly and play consistently enough against the likes of Clippers, OKC, Miami and the Spurs. Next year we will tweak the line up and I will say we win it next year before Kobe and Nash retire :D

Baby steps. Lakers started out as a 1-4 team. Now they're a .500 ball club. I'm assuming by the All Star break they'll be a few games above .500. By April they'll get hot and make a run in the playoffs.

My optimism remains strong.

I just love how these topics come up when the Lakers lose a game/games lol.

But no, and that's assuming if they keep the current roster with no changes and with no changes to how they're playing now. Sure they will get better from month to month, but will their Chemistry be great enough to win it all this year? You can't help but to say no.

Yes but a lot of things have to be in La's favor for that to occur. They will need some good fortune & assistance from the refs. (Like what MIA & OKC get)

It seems were progressing. So if we continue to gel and build chemistry and head into the playoffs hot it doesn't matter what seed we are the west better look the [expletive] out.

The question is CAN the Lakers still win the championship? I'm surprised at all of the No results...
