New to the forum but have been an ardent fan since the days of West and Baylor. Ever since Jimmy Boy has been the primary "decision maker" this franchise has beentaking a steady nosedive in class. From the Odom debacle to the passing on Phil jackson head-scratecher does anyone else wonder whether this daddy's boy is already in way over his grandiose head?

No. Jim has done a great job. People give Mitch credit for getting Nash and Dwight and rightfully so, but Jim deserves some as well.

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

Jesus... the Odom debacle??? Odom is worthless now and he needed to be moved there's no doubt about that. And Phil... its whatever but I don't blame them on not getting Phil.

It wasn't Jim's fault that Stern vetoed the trade which screwed our situation with Odom and not his fault Lamar acted childish in handling it. I do think it's weird they passed on Phil, but you can't entirely pin the blame on Jim; Jerry and Mitch had a say as well

How the heck do you pass on Phil and go for a guy who hasn't done much? Jim Buss also seems like an impudent and unethical bloke, at the very least artless. Sorry thi guy has Peter Principle written all over his leathery face---recall that the Peter Principle posits that people eventually rise up to positions where their skill set is unable to match job responsibilities. I hope I'm wrong about him but until we pull out of this nosedive I'm calling him the demise culprit until I see the Lakers looking like winners instead of a team searching for an identity.

Passing on Phil was a team wide decision, not a one-man thing. It was truly a mistake but pinning it on one guy is amazingly short-sighted.
The "Odom Debacle"? Dude, you are aware that Odom's money turned into Steve Nash and Odom isn't close to the player he was before right? Odom was on the decline more than the public knew apparently and the Lakers got something for him. It was a brilliant and bold move.
Paying attention and digging deeper than the headlines is a must.

If you believe Jim Buss is the problem when he got us Nash and Howard without giving up Gasol you should probably think about being the fan of another team.

Jim isn't playing lazy defense and then complaining on the offensive end when his teammate don;t do something right
