This is more about Pau being more comfortable on the court in a free flowing, passing environment. Most of the PGs Pau has played with for Spain have had similar skillsets to Nash...and with Nash back, Pau's starting to look like Spanish National Team Pau. That's a good sign.


All he needed to do was be aggressive. It sounds simple and it is but he just couldn't find a way to attack: the rim, the rebounds, the mismatches et cetera...

Now, it easy. When Nash gets him the ball, all he has to do is look at the rim and make a split second decision to keep it to score or pass it to score. When he does that in the same rhythm as Nash has the offense flowing, things happen quickly and often successfully for the Lakers. When he hesitates, he gives the defense time to react.

On the defensive and offensive rebounding end, he's not getting high off the ground but he's getting much better position once the ball hits the rim. He's so tall and long that often, being in the right place at the right time is enough to win those 50/50 balls for him. The fact that he's not conceding those 50/50 balls has paid off, limiting or slowing down the opposition's transition opportunities.

I'm not sold that he's the perfect player for this system because of his past penchant for disappearing in hard fought games but if he's truly turned the corner and can give us max EFFORT on a consistent basis, there are few (if any) in the NBA at his position that can match his combination of size, length, skill and experience in big games.

But is it too big of a risk holding on to him?

Everything will get easier and easier for Pau when he learns how to move without the ball and put himself in position to score every time down the court, kuma. He's accustomed to having the offense run thru him but now he's just got to concentrate on keeping his hands ready and finishing strong...kuma.

Pau is perfect for this team, his versatility is key to our championship run. We have the best big man rotation in the league, Jamison can't even get any burn...

with the way pau is playing now in the mike offensive system, it is much easier fot the team to run offensively. it opens more driving lanes for the perimeter players and also if nash wants to run p&r's with howard. also it lets howard operate fully inside doing his thing grabbing boards and such. just hope pau can keep playing like this and making those long range shots.
