Bad but he'll probably just have to wear one of these

That said, his health hasn't been good this year. He is becoming the definition of a 7 footer starting to break down
If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

Like has been said I KNOW that we are supposed to wait for Nash to see if he can make it work with him. But the writing is on the wall, Pau is breaking down, and the more time we spend the less he is getting.
I will make the prediction that he will only get worse as the season goes along, and that when we hit the playoffs he'll have hit the wall again and it will cost us more than it will help us.
We have the "most skilled big man" but the most skilled big man hasn't helped us much since that 2nd championship. They both resulted in two second round exits.
We can't keep doing the same thing with this guy and expect different results and now his body is breaking down right in front of us and we're still going to try to see if it works with Nash.
It could work with Nash from now till the playoffs, but when the playoffs get here Pau will be "done" and then it doesn't matter at all.
If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

I really want Pau to do well, but in all honesty I think he needs to be number 1 - 2 option on a team to get going again.

thisThe thing that baffels me is how a guy can domminnate in the summer and just be a role player in the winter.

Pau Gasol has basically been diagnosed with "being a tall guy who has played a ton of basketball."

Antoni needs better time management kobe and nash are not far behind.
It's because of who we have replacing them. When Blake returns Nash's minutes will be cut down.
But you saw what happened when D'antoni rested Nash against Denver. Nash only played 31 minutes and whenever Duhon was in we saw what happened.
If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

Couldnt have said it any better. During the olympics he was dominate on both ends of the floor when he was the number 1 option. When playing for the lakers its like his mind has to downshift to compensate for the other players.

Nah, he just needs to play for his country and he'll be fine.Pau needs to rest his body in the off season. It's caught up to him.

Big 4s are OVERRATED. you think Nash/Kobe/Dwight cant carry the whole Offensive load!?
(Peace Pau we need pieces, not MettaWorldPieces!!!!!!!!)

Gasol said the pain in his foot is "manageable." It started hurting a while ago, got better when he was out w/knee tendinitis, has returned.
He's been playing through the plantar fasciitis & will continue to.
Gasol's been dealing with this Planar Fasciitis all year apparently along with his knee tendinitis.
it is amazing how he sort of kept this from the medical staff till they come up as issues.
I'm pretty sure if Gasol was honest about the injuries he's been dealing with considering how his body has been breaking down they'd have traded him for Josh Smith in the off season when they had the chance.
SO it's understandable why. It also could have saved him minutes in the pre-season as he probably would have been rested more.
But nope.... never told anyone.
So all his injuries that are flaring up now have apparently been there all season.
Hopefully he heals up, but darn what the heck else is he hiding?

its a common pain athletes put up with. i have it myself. u become accustomed to the pain. much like how u become comfortable with forever broken fingers. pau just needs to grow a pair & stop the excuses or just demand a trade. he has exhausted his full prime yrs for Lakers. it will only get worse each new season.
Does really. If Kobe made a complaint for everything he's dealt with we'd have a new story every week. Kobe only brings it up AFTER the fact as in when he's done with that season and looks back on it, that's the only time you hear about him having an injury FROM him. Remember he had a jacked up knee and a messed up foot and went into that Hornets playoff game and dunked on Okafor and didn't say a word.
