I'm pretty sure this has already been posted...but what about Gasol for Stoudemire?

We're not getting much of a defensive contribution from Gasol anymore anyway, so the difference between him and Stoudemire wouldn't hurt the team much IMO. Reuniting him with the player and coach he's had the most success with. He's also faster and can run the court better than Gasol.
The way I see it:
Scoring: Stoudemire
Rebounding: Gasol (but with Hill and Dwight we should be okay)
Defense: Wash
Speed/agility: Stoudemire
Injury: At this point, it's hard to say Gasol is much better off than Stoudemire. But simply because of Stoudemire's history, i'd have to give Gasol a slight edge.
I think he'd be a much better fit for our offense and wouldn't be much more, if any, of a defensive liability than a banged up Gasol.
From New York's perspective, Gasol is less of a ball-stopper and is less likely to mess up the great chemistry that they have going right now. He's a better traditional inside presence and can rebound and give them another post presence with Chandler. Pau has a much better post game than anyone the Knicks have right now. The Knicks have plenty of scorers and they don't need another hybrid type player. they could use the rebounding help with all the shots they jack up and the pace that they play.
At this point, with his skillset, I think Pau will slow the team down once Nash comes back and the offense is running like it should. Gasol is still great in some areas, but I think he's more suited for a slower-paced game (as we all know). I know Stoudemire has a max contract, so I imagine the contracts would at least be close to working out. I think this trade would be mutually beneficial. Thoughts?

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

lol it seems to be a unanimous no so far. Can anyone give me some logical reasons why, at this point, Pau > Amar'e?
Because you'd get a downgrade. For Pau you either get a better star that is an upgrade, or additional; bench pieces. Getting Amar'e is both a step backwards and does nothing for the team.
I would get Chris Bosh before I got Amar'e stoudamire.

I understand the reason people don't want him is because they think he's a downgrade from Pau, but what I'm asking is given the circumstances (Pau's lack of production and effort and the D'Antoni system), why is it such a sure thing that Stoudemire is a downgrade? Can anyone deny that he's better offensively than Pau? Especially with Nash running the P&R.

not with Dwight being primary center.
