Looks ok idk if I'd watch this right away in theaters
this looks like a movie that probably won't be the same out of theaters. it is del toro who directed pans labyrinth and the hell boy movies which are all underrated
i think it has potential to be surprising. at the very minimum it'll be an awesome summer action movie

I liked Pans Labyrinth only seen Hellboy 1 and didn't care for it, I'm not that into big budget action movies but this one actually looks better than most thats why I say it looks ok.

i think guillermo del toro is gonna kill it. and charlie and idris elba are just bad asses. charlie day and ron perlman should be great to.

Initially liked the Cloverfield disaster-movie look to it, huge monster crushing cars on the bridge looked great, up until the fighter jets engaging the monster it looked promising to me. Looks like it's action packed, and I love action, but i'm kinda picky about sci-fi related media, whether its a movie or a video game, etc.
Not familiar with the cast either, except for Elba and Perlman.

^ Why haven't you watched Sons?
I'm assuming you're talking about Sons of Anarchy.
Idk dude. Heard nothing but great things about it. Just one of those shows everyone seems to love, like The Walking Dead and American Horror Story, that I don't watch.

Had me interested up until the huge robots appeared.

it's guillermo del toro. trust it. he's one of the best directors in the business. let me put it this way. WB forked over 200+ million for him to make this movie. there are only like 10 directors who get that kind of budget
and there is maybe 5 who get that kind of budget with an original franchise with no history to create buzz
not to mention guillermo doesn't take many projects. i think this movie is going to surprise a ton of people

tried watching walking dead. don't enjoy it. only zombie movie i ever liked was zombieland but that's because it was hilarious.
AHS is really good, but SOA is better IMO though they are very different shows completely.
i highly recommend sons, the symbolism, the quotes, the action, the acting, the story, the foreshadowing, the references to past seasons even in recent seasons
it's just about as quality a show as there is

I think i've seen more films where Del Toro wasn't the director but was still involved in one way or another, like The Orphanage, Rudo y Cursi and Biutiful, than movies that he has directed.
I can think of only Blade 2 and Hellboy that i've seen. Always have wanted to watch Pans Labyrinth tho.

the best part of Sons is that if you watch from season 1 to 5 you can tell that its not some show making season after season, it has an end, and it's following it's narrative to that end. everything is connected because of this
