I do not think you cannot blame D'Antoni too much on this one. Even if Phil was coaching this team, the Lakers would still lose these games. Personally, as a team, they are missing something inside of them. I do not if it is fire or something but they are lacking something big time. A coach can only preach so much. It is up to the players to find that missing piece. In addition, I think they are just old as a team.

All 5 of those games Bernie coached were home games and 4 of the 5 were against bad teams. The one good team, the Spurs, beat the Lakers. It was the competition and the venue, not Bernie.

Difference between MB and MD is brown's rotations were retarded for over a year. MD's rotations arent bad. You all act as if he's keeping out our best players or something. We have a lot of injurys right now and theres not much he can do. As well a weak ass power forward who is killing our ability to get better talent.

Also we are able to score we just suck on D. And the whole he doesn't teach D. Our defense sucked before MD came here. Defense is effort and that is all on the players. We show glimpses of defense but we dont keep it up. Call is injurys, call it ages, hell call it laziness but if you really are gonna put it on the coach your being ridiculous.

The increase of turnovers tend to make a team play with less effort also. When you keep giving the ball up you get frustrated and play worse (especially on defense). Getting a legit pg who actually can run a offense and doesn't give up the ball a ton of time we will see better effects on the defense.

Problem is defense, If MDA cared, Nate would've been in the bench.

The problem is way bigger than the presence of steve.

Up to now, its all iso's and post ups ...we rarely saw a designed play ... This is hurting our team...

We have errors, one of them is Metta doing something offensively other than 3's ..

If Feb came and we are still struggling, MDA is out.

Hey man...even Mike D said it already, if we are not in the hunt, failed. So we have to wait until NASH & GASOL comes back to play a decent 20 games, then by all-star break if we are still in 10-12 seat....Mike D should just quit.

Like Jack said, it's never to late to bring the ZEN back. You can tell these Lakers are playing the same way as they did under MB.

Unless Phil has magical powers which can grow Pau Gasol some new knees and build us a decent bench out of thin air he cannot help. Plus has everyone forgot the god dam demolishing we got by Dallas in the play-offs with Phil in the coaching seat?

Move on from Phil.

Yeh, why would we want the greatest coach in the franchise's history? Let's hire Mike Brown and Mike D'Antoni instead because they've never lost in the playoffs...never won championships either.

Pau Gasol is GONE

I never said PJ was perfect in the playoffs, you misunderstood my post.

The two coaches we've hired in his place have done a great job btw.

pretty easy to be swept when your 20 mil seven footer disappears (and he's still missing in action)

Pau Gasol is GONE

Bernie beat the teams we were expected to beat. Dantonie is losing to the same teams that Bernie was blowing out.

Even against the spurs, the best team in the NBA the lakers lost only by 2 points

This team is in the middle of a civil war

Players vs players
Coaches vs coaches
Players vs coaches
Coaches vs players

This team has more turmoil then I've ever seen

No thanks, Phil's era ended with the worst playoff defeat in Lakers history.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Because the team is millions over the luxury tax. Hiring a coach that wants the sun and the moon isn't going to help that. This is a business at the end of the day. Phil won with Jordan and Pippen, and Kobe/Shaq/Gasol. Same as Spoelstra won with LBJ/Wade. This team as constructed just does not have the personnel to win. They are old. Phil isn't going to make Kobe young, he isn't going to make Gasol healthy and hungry, he isn't going to make the bench play better. Last I saw of Phil he had a higher seeded very talented team get swept by the Mavs. No doubt he is the greatest coach if all time, wouldn't make any difference and certainly wouldn't take a sub .500 team and turn them into champs.
