So you are just going ignore all the factors that played into them becoming a 56 win team huh?  Not to mention it took them 3-4 seasons to get to that point only to get swept.

You are underselling Hollins...He took a 15win team to 56 wins. With less talent that MDA ever had.

D'Antoni is a product of Nash. His time in New York could have told you that.

Majesty took care of that.

Still doesn't change the fact MDA hasn't done anything without Amare & Nash, and the only reason he is coaching the Lakers is because of Nash. Oh, yeah. He also plays Kobe a asinine number of mins. Has Pau camp at the 3 line...I mean who does that? Put one of the best post players at the 3 line for a majority of the game. Ohhhh, but he figured it out near the end of the season, so we are good. He figured out that Pau isn't a 3-point shooter.  :hooray:  Yay!

Hey Lebron, we are gonna turn you into a spot-up shooter. YOU GOTTA FIT THE SYSTEM LEBRON! Just stand over here, and pass & shoot 3's.....Huh, what did you say? YOU DON'T LIKE MY SYSTEM?!?!? TOO BAD, Because I'm never going to adapt it for your talents, muwhahaha.  :chuckle:  :chuckle:  :chuckle:

Totally agree. Dwight may not sign here because of MDA and who knows how many other stars will pass on becoming a Laker if MDA is here.

I would love to see LeBron in a Lakers jersey. The question is if Jim Buss continues the bring in the superstars like how his dad used to do. Let's hope!

His dad only brought in Shaq. Magic and Kareem were here all ready. Drafted Worthy. West picked Kobe who blossomed to a superstar.

Jim brought on Dwight.

No, Paul George

Los Angeles Lakers Trade Rumors: Paul George To Lakers A Possibility; Guard May Not Sign Extension With Pacers This Offseason

Rumors have linked the Los Angeles Lakers to Indiana Pacers forward Paul George for several weeks. Now, word has come out that George is in no hurry to sign his contract extension with the Pacers.

Fox Sports Florida spoke to the breakout star of this year's playoffs following Indiana's Game 7 loss to the Miami Heat. George told the website that he expects to get a max contract next summer, when he enters restricted free agency. However, he did not seem in a rush to redo his rookie deal with the Pacers.

"I haven't really put my mind to that right now,'' George said.  "I really want to focus on what's at the plate now."

While it's possible that George will eventually re-up with the Pacers, the fact that he is not demanding a new contract from the Pacers right now is a good sign for the other teams that may be vying for his services in 2014. Rumors have indicated that the Los Angeles Lakers may be one of those teams.

Lock this thread. Lebron isn't leaving Miami, even if they lose next year.

And jesus christ people...we are NOT GETTING PG! Indiana is matching ANY offer, even the max, just like NO did with Eric Gordon...same situation.  It is near impossible to sign an upcoming quality player that is not unrestricted.  If they are restricted, you can forget about it.  Even if Paul George wanted to come to LA, the Pacers wont allow it.

Only way PG comes to LA is if he signs the Qualifying offer which would be risking a max deal.  Nothing could be more stupid.

He is not coming here anymore.

If he does leave, Cleveland may be the destination. They have a nice young core over there. LeBron returns, fulfills his promise about delivering a championship to the city, and it ends happily ever after. The end.

"This is what we came here for, so that would be the ultimate," James said. "But you can never ... I don't know, life changes, things happen, and we have to be prepared for that. But this is what we all want to be here for, that's to be able to compete for a championship each and every year. And if we can do that, then it'd be awesome."
