D'Antoni was asked if the Lakers have hit rock bottom: "I hope so ... Yeah, we're down at the bottom"

I fully believe MDA is part of the Lakers' problems on the injury front too. They have the third highest pace in the league this season and were tied for 4th last year. Most of our players can't handle it, especially the older players.

Popping in here before the New Year - I've been saying this forever on Lakersground...Everyone wants to give this coach excuses, yet none of them would admit that he's part of the injury problem, as well (look at the Lakers and Knicks injuries, every year he coached).

How much do you blame George Karl for the Nuggets falling apart during the Melo trade fiasco before he landed in New York?

just wondering in that scenario as Karl seems more or less liked what was your opinion?

I dislike mda, his sub patterns, his lack of drawing up plays and his playing with lineups. How can player get a feel fir his role on a team if a coach is always tweaking. In his defense, he is working with a depleted roster due to injuries but to go from playing Sacre and Kaman to not. It's confusing.

So if MDA is not fired at the end of the season that means:

He will have input on the draft choice

Free agents will be signed around his system

New team will spend training camp and the '14 season learning his system

So in the final year of Kobe's contract they either:

A: extend MDA

B: get a new coach and have the whole team that was built around MDA learn a new system during Kobes final year

I hope they have a new coach in mind and move quickly at the end of the year...or yikes...

If that's the case, we can say goodbye to any hopes of drafting Joel Embiid or WCS. God forbid we have a big with post moves on this team!
