Is Phil Jackson done with coaching? Find out as the Hall of Famer dishes on his health and near return to the Lakers last year.

I think everyone can agree that we aren't winning a championship this season.   A lot of focus has been on the upcoming off-season, but is there any way that D'Antoni is the coach next season?

I'm not sure if that's even a possibility. At least I hope not.

He's going to get fired. The Lakers know that he is not a tool to lure free agents, especially with the possibility of Melo.

I wouldn't be surprised if he resigns mid-season to avoid to embarrassment.

I'm not saying this is completely on D'Antoni.

What I'm saying is with the expectations of this upcoming off-season, will D'Antoni be the coach past this season?  Does anyone think he can recruit elite players to come to the Lakers? I don't think so.  I mean the one guy that we have a real shot at is Melo and their relationship was crap in NY.

If not D'Antoni, then who would be your choice?

I want a completely FRESH guy. I am tired of signing coaches that have been fired or bounced around. Of course, PJ is the only exception to this.

I don't have a choice because coaching turnover can change the complexion of things in the next few months.

The main thing that NEEDS to be done is to add Phil Jackson as a consultant to the front office.  We need to have a guy like him that can talk to free agents.

Exactly, maybe we find a new PJ in the new generation of coaches.

Kaman, Henry and Farmar get the low basketball IQ awards for the past 3 games.

Maybe, like me, this time change has thrown them for a loop.

We arent getting Lebron, no onee else matters enough to get Phil, save the cap space for trades or 2015.

Can't blame D'antoni for Pau's piss poor effort.

Our bench and Steve Blake brought us back into the game when Pau was on the bench. There's a reason for that.  Blake and the bench are the reason we were even in this game.

Kaman and Hill are outplaying Gasol at a position he's supposed to be better than both at.

Can't blame D'antoni for Gasol not stepping up when everyone else on this darn team is playing with heart except him.

If 11 guys are playing their hearts out, even Shawn freaking Williams whose been buried on the bench the last 2 games was on pace to have a better game than Pau and Pau is the guy that has the most responsibility.

This isn't about one free agent.  It's about having a stable front office with a polarizing figure that can lure many free agents in the future.

Sorry but Jim Buss going up against Pat Riley when it comes to free agent recruiting isn't going to work.

MDA better not be here past this season. I can't imagine he's a coach players line up to play for.

Lol @ Majesty bringing up Pau YET AGAIN in defense of MDA.

I don't care what the roster looks like. I don't need a roster, good or bad, to see that MDA just isn't a good coach.

His system doesn't work, he doesn't win. Can coaches change their luck? Can they win despite their less than stellar resume? Sure, some can, but I'd bet anything that MDA isn't one if them.

sure. But you think post LeBron and when this little run is over, it's gonna be ANOTHEr great run for more titles.

That's a highly unlikely scenario in my opinion, and the East will get played out again, and the Lakers will be back on top.

it may start with a harden like guy, I'm starting to look at that GS payroll and thinking , they paid Bogut but not Klay Thompson.

SO we may start with offering him the max, having Kobe be  his mentor, and BAm...We have LA and money....we'll get players

What I can't understand is why people don't understand to have 5 titles in 25 years is great. We have 5 in 17  Kobe seasons...to expect another one is like expecting a GW 3 with 1 second left . It CAN happen, but if it was to be expected , it wouldnt be AMAZING
