Forgive me for beating a dead horse but, Phil turns down Brooklyn.... Now says he would coach as long as he has say in the roster.... I wonder what team(s) he is looking at....
A "building" team, like he said. A team going nowhere that would allow him to be executive and pick everyone from the training staff down.
He wants the Pat Riley thing.
He also said he told Mitch in November he didn't want to coach anymore. But when he and Mitch talked about the "possibility" Phil said he'd only consider it cause he wouldn't have to move anywhere and meet anyone new, but that he still needed to think about it.
I think the reality is, if we got Phil, he'd be gone this off-season too. Because if you look at what he's asking other teams that they are saying no to(because he wants too much creative control outside of coaching) its not outlandish Mitch would turn him down for the same reasons, or that Mitch DID turn him down for the same reasons.
No established team is gonna give Phil Jackson(who is unproven at all those areas except coaching) all of that power off his coaching credentials alone.
Only a team "building" aka going nowhere and with nothing to lose would take that risk. That's why Phil looks at them.
