Yes. Fire him. I'm more calm about KB's Achilles injury now. I have move past shock, anger and depression and in a moment of clarity I do believe MDT is partially to blame. Not fully but he is guilty for his actions or lack there of.

MDT's failure to rest Kobe played a role in the injury occurring. Its not the sole reason but the large minutes compounding game after game definitely contributed.

For example if you have tires that are rated to 50k miles and you have about 45k miles on them, you know the probability of the tire popping increases when day after day your driving around on them as hard and fast as you can.

It doesnt matter if Kobe tried to resist rest time under MDT. Its MDT's responsibility to tell KB to stfu and fine him for not listening to his coach. Kobe would have been pissed and whined about it, but later would have respected MDT for stepping up and sticking to his decision.

Kobe resisted bench rests under PJ to. But at the end of the day I remember Kobe sitting the first 3-4 minutes of every 4th quarter in close games and up to 7 minutes if we had a decent lead.

Granted we've had many close games where it would seem unlikely to extract your games best player. But as a head coach you must figure out ways to work around a smaller problem in efforts to avoid a larger one. And the fact we only had a 7 man rotation during many games shows the lack of effort in attempts to discover a solution. And that is a example of a coach not trying to make his team better.

Give him the axe as soon as the season is a wrap.

Solving a problem in a incorrect manner only creates additional problems.

I believe proper course correction involves a clear and fresh start.

Firing MDT today accomplishes nothing but more confusion and disheartening reality.

Stay the course and remedy the problem when the time is right.

Do you guys every think of how successful the team would have possibly been if a coach aside from Phil and MDA was assigned the position?

I always though Jerry Sloan would have brought a very interesting style, and it would be even more interesting now with a core of just Nash,Gasol, and Howard.

As much as I want Pringles outta town a.s.a.p., the season is already fried.  No need to throw further turmoil into it right now with only 2 games left.

He will be gone soon enough, at least he better be.

Virtually any other coach would've done a better job.  The writing was on the wall with D'Antoni after New York, stunned the Lakers completely ignored that.

You suck at your job, you get fired. That is the correct manner in the world and definitely in the world of sports. There are no problems with firing MDA...NONE.

Don't think so. Kupchak is Jim's puppet right now, and without Jerry's voice of reason (rest in peace), MDA is here for the long haul.

And he can take Nash with him.

While I am pro-Nash, I know that without him, we'd never have been cursed with MDA.

Nah I'd keep Nash. Just bring a coach who realizes and understands this is 2013, not 2006-7.

His comments after this game just serve to make me not be able to stand him any more. Can't stand his philosophy and his smug comments.

Kobe can very easily leverage Lil Jimmy into canning MDA. If Kobe and Dwight say no dice, I don't think he is coming back. Although he was named coach of month.

So was Avery Johnson

At least Avery got his team to the Finals, which they might have won if the refs weren't all over D-Wade's jock.

I think Dwight is the only one who could influence the FO to fire D'Antoni. Kobe has already made it pretty clear that he wants the team to go in the complete opposite direction of MDAs' vision. Even during todays game he was begging on twitter for post ups. If D'Antoni stays, I fully expect Pau to be gone this offseason. Not sure what that would mean for Kobes' future with the team, or the probability of Dwight resigning.

I think Kobe deserves to have more leverage within this organization, considering what he's done. Literally ran himself ragged to keep this team in the playoff picture.

Extremely unfortunate that management catered to what would make Steve Nash successful instead of what would make the team successful. Should have known that trying to run the offense through our 39 year old point guard was asking too much of him.

Hindsight's a B.

Stuck with D'Antoni now I think.

[expletive] Mike Dunleavy would've been a better choice, now that I look at it!
