The firing would all depend on what it leads to. If he's fired and replaced with another garbage coach that also struggles, it could mean that this team is doomed. However, if he's fired and they start winning and/or they get a great coach, it shows their constant drive to win.I wonder if firing d'antoni is a good or bad message to Howard
On one hand it looks like they do everything to win
On the other hand it looks like the FO is a bunch of buffoons who can't get a coaching hire right

At this point, I'd be interested to see how Bickerstaff would do if he was given the reigns for a dozen or so games.

I have to say that I love your picture. It's funny - I really disliked Mr. Potato Head, but I don't think I've ever hated a human being more than I hate Mr. Pringles...

I think that's what they did TBH.
I want MDA to go out in spectacular fashion. Punch someone. Double birds to the fans at staples. Something memorable.
I want to know if MDA thinks his job is safe? He coaches scared, but he's unwilling to adapt.

At least MD's has a team option but damn, when Mike Brown was hired I just can't believe he would've demanded a 4 year deal or else he wouldn't be interested, and that the FO would agree to those terms. Same with MD. Both of them got run out of town in their last positions so how in the hell are the Lakers even justifying giving them that long of a contract. Because if the option is 'I want 4 years or I'm not interested', then that makes it that much easier to move on to the next candidate.

Neither Mike's would of demanded long deals. Both probably [expletive] themselves in excitement that they were even given the roles.

Can anyone tell me why the Lakers put there coaches on the books for so long?

It's the agents that negotiate contracts.
Like anything else, coaches want stability in a contract. I'm not sure of many coaches and agents would accept a two year deal with a second year being a team option.
Coaches usually get a minimum of three years, it's not out of the ordinary. Money on the other hand is a different story
