Firstly, the Ravens were already headed to the playoffs. Secondly, firing a coordinator for a football team is totally different than firing the head coach of a basketball team that has already fired a head coach in the same season.

It's too late, this team isn't going to the playoffs and firing another coach midseason isn't going to help.

As fans, we have to suck it up and face the reality that this season is a total failure. It's only going to get more difficult, we have a rough stretch of games coming up and we can't even beat Toronto or Chicago sans Deng.


the ravens thing is a good comparison though..
the team needed a scape goat, and it got it, and the team has played better...


When the lakers fire dantonie, they will go on a tear.

It is really sad...

Lakers are not giving him a chacne to succede...
Dantonie has no coaches with him..
and the lakers have not made any moves to improve the roster with players that fit his system...

You do not have to trade pau to do that, just a couple FA signings...

delonte west and troy murphy could have helped save dantonies job

Mitch needs to say COach D is a drug addict from the prescription pills he had & may still have to take for his knee. He got the job highed up laying in the hospital with his feet up. Somehow get the contract nullified. so Lakers dont have to pay him for all the yrs promised.

The Lakers are very unlikely to fire D'Antoni, since it would leave them paying $25MM to coaches no longer in Los Angeles (D'Antoni and Mike Brown). But if they did make a change, Wojnarowski suggests that Bernie Bickerstaff may be the Lakers' best option, since he simplified the offense and had the club playing solid defense during his interim stint.

Exactly my thought on the subject. You're already spending too much to lose, why would you be scared to fire a coach again just cause of money. I'm sure 12 million won't hurt as much as their record if they continue to do this.
