How to solve Dwight Howard's free throw problem.
How about making him shoot free throw in Underhand freethrow shot
He's making 47% in Free throw line.
I know it won't make worse lol.

I just don't understand how you can suck at shooting FTs like he has. Hopefully that 3 he hit gave him a boost lol

since he's gonna miss more than half his freethrows, let's make him just toss the ball to the rim and hope for an offensive rebound. that'll be effective xD

Dwight makes most of his free throws in practice so it seems like a mental thing. It wouldn't hurt to try a sports psychologist, it's worked for Ron.

Yeah well I'm pretty sure Ron had a psychologist because he was borderline insane

Ron was just an example, but it's worked for many athletes.

Dwight's hands are much bigger than their hands.

I think Dwight missing free throws is more mental than physical he lets the pressure get to him

The Lakers have have a small white board in their practice facility just to keep track of Dwight's free throws. They record every free throw he has taken during games (obviously), and also in practice. I read though he makes like 75 or 80% of his free throws in practice. Strange.

SOmeone on the team need to calm howard down. i think its more a mental thing, he needs to address to everyone, he knows he sucks wants to get better.

Alright the main problem with Dwight's free throw shooting is when he thinks too much.

When he's in practice and just talking with Ham or just talking win general not thinking about anything the free throws just go in cause he's relaxed and not thinking.

So I think the best way to solve this problem is if I was his teammate id strike up a conversation with him while he's on the line so he'd focus on the talk we're having and not think about the free throw. I guarantee if a teammate engaged him in conversation when he was at the line he'd make more of them :)

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

You should reach more often ;)

The best way to solve this problem is to make NBA agree to make one player defer his shots to an assigned player to do that for him ,,

Problem solved, otherwise we'll hope he notches the 60% at best

don't think it will be solved...i'd be shocked if he got his %age over 70...

if he hasn't been able to do it by now, not sure whats going to come along to change it...i'm sure he and his people have encouraged him to try everything already...

i don't quite understand how come some people just aren't able to make fluid motions...like barley's golf swing...thats how dwights free throws look to me, like there are stages to his shot, or small pauses between motions. he bends his knees, but he starts his shooting motion after he's already upright...which negates the use of the knees...looks robotic...shaq used to do sometimes similar...

hopefully by the end of his career in LA, he'll still suck at them, but shoot a higher %age when they matter most...shaq wasn't as good as he thinks he was at this, but i did see him hit some clutch free throws on more than one occasion
