you do realize nash and howard alone would prevent us from getting lebron and love. the cap isn't going to be where you apparently think it is.

howard is going to want 20+ a year. nash is at 12, kobe will at minimum ask for 15. that leaves about 11-12 million available. not anywhere near enough to sign lebron or love

I saw this article on ESPN just now about possible trade scenarios for contenders. It is an insiders article. No rumors here, only speculation and ideas. This is what the idea was for the Lakers:

I read that article too, thought is was the most stupid trade idea ever for LA. Telfair is barely an upgrade over what we have at pointguard, and we actually have a good back-up 2 in Meeks. Jermaine O'Neal at this point in his career is as bad a fit in D'Antonis system as Hill, just older and worse.
If we had to do a trade with Phoenix, i'd try to get etither Beasley, Morris or Frye.

Don't know where you're getting your numbers from but Nash's last season, he only makes $9.7M.
Dwight will be at ~$22M.
Kobe won't get $15M from ANYONE in the NBA at age 36 with 19 years on his legs...more like $9-10M (maybe) to match Nash.

That will leave around $15-17M (depending on where the cap is - $57-60M)...not enough for both Lebron/Love but enough to land either.

Not sure where you are getting your numbers but unless Kobe suffers a significant drop off he'll get 15 million.

ZERO minutes tonight so far. Doubt that changes anytime soon, but hope I'm wrong. Total head-scratcher. He'll never admit it, but clearly D'Antoni still holds some kind of grudge against the predator from their days together in New York. So unfortunate.

As said, he does hold value around the league, might as well trade his ass if we're not even gonna' play him much, if at all.

Yeah, at least give Hill some more minutes. Talk about players earning their time off of the bench? Hill has been one of those dudes. This organization is about championships, not grudges... I hope there still is no grudge, but if there is, figure that ish out!

Sitting the player who gives the most effort and giving 30 minutes to someone who never gives a consistent effort (if any) is completely mind boggling. I really hope we don't trade him, he's one of the last of a dying breed of hustle/glue guys that do more than what a stat sheet can tell you. Knowing Mitch, he can get somebody good without giving him up.

If he's not gonna' play at all and we can get someone of value who might, why not? I like him too, a lot, but like I said, if the coach doesn't even wanna' use him, then might as well bring someone who he will.
