What a joke this league has slowly, but surely become. Stern is the worst commissioner in pro sports.

Or they could intentionally foul one of the players and then sit the Big Three for the rest of the game. It would only take for few seconds to do that.

That reminded me of the first game a few years ago where Pop went straight to the hack a Shaq, just to [expletive] with people.

I actually agree with the fine, you don't ALL OF THE SUDDEN at the LAST MINUTE decide to rest your players, I'm all for resting your guys, but not this early in the season, and I don't buy the whole "giving them rest for Memphis" they already have a day off for that which they didn't even practice today

Pop is the coach. He makes the decisions for the team and Stern should have no say in it.

How we go putting the emphasis on the stars of the NBA. Yes some are noted as better than others, but this is pro sports and any player on any team is a pro. I went to a Yankees vs. Red Sox's game in August and it was like watching a AAA game, both teams sat out players. DID I complain about it no. It was a pro baseball game i enjoyed. I know as fans we pay more than we should to go to pro events, but these are the best in the world at the top level. Money is the only issue here and some people who went to the Spurs vs. Heat game feel cheated, get over it, you bought the ticket with no guarantee’s who plays and who does not..

IMO...makes the league look bad, between vetoing the cp3 trade and this (among other things) stern reminds me more and more of vince mcmahon than anyone else

If people still thought the NBA was a legitimate Sports League, they would be mad as HELL that the Commish is dictating to the teams who they should play and not play...

I can see where Stern is coming from I don't agree with the fine or making a big deal out of it but just like Pop has to look out for the best interest of his team, Stern has to look out for the best interest of the league when it comes to that bottom line. Because I know mad ppl probably changed the channel as soon as they heard those guys weren't playing I know I did, so Pop lost the NBA some money. So fining the Spurs will prevent other teams from making similar moves early in the season on big nationally televised games.

At the same time from Pop's point of view he has to look out for the best interest of his team and he should have the right to not play any player at any time for any reason.
