Nash Nearing Return

The Lakers are starting to see some light at the end of the Steve Nash Injury Tunnel, leading Mike D’Antoni to say there’s a chance his point guard returns to the court at some point during the team’s coming four-game road trip.
“I think it’s possible,” said the coach. “I wouldn’t put my reputation on it, but, it’s possible.”
Nash, who suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left leg on Oct. 31 at Portland, won’t play in Sunday’s game against Utah at Staples Center.
The veteran has been ramping up work outs with Lakers strength and conditioning coach Tim DiFrancesco of late, much to DiFrancesco’s liking.
“I’m really excited with the progress that he’s feeling and I’m seeing at this point, in certain lower body based exercises that even a week ago were not possible,” said DiFrancesco. “I finally feel like we’re seeing some beams of light at the end of this tunnel, and that’s exciting. Nobody has been more frustrated or wanted to be back on that court than him.”
After Sunday’s shootaround, Nash could be seen breaking a sweat going through agility and strengthening drills with DiFrancesco. His demeanor is starting to pick up.
Nobody is more eager for the Canadian’s return than D’Antoni, who seemed to be trying not to get himself too excited, at least until his PG is actually on the floor.
Nonetheless, real progress has been made, and Nash’s return is certainly more imminent than it appeared even a week earlier.

For asking, it being "possible" for Nash to play on the 4-game trip doesn't make it "likely." Still no target date for his return.

Even if his return isn't during this upcoming road trip, it is a positive sign. I just hope they don't come out and say he will miss another week. I've heard that a few too many times.

I think he'll be back for Washington or New York. I actually like the way Nash is dealing with this injury. He doesn't want to jump into the game with cold feet. He wants to be game day ready to play like his usual self.

How many time have we seen a player, not only on the Lakers, come back from an injury at an old age too soon, and never play like the way they used to.

All I know is that Pau and Nash HAVE to come back at the same time. We cannot afford to continue this hodgepodge of mixing starters with nonstarters...I think both will play by end of this 4 game road trip.

I mean, once Pau and Nash come back, our mediocre bench doesn't look too bad. Having a bench unit of Jamison, Meeks, Duhon, Hill is not bad. I really liked the way that Hill and Dwight played together in the first quarter tonight. Maybe put Dwight in there with the second unit. I know a lot of people here are really down on Duhon, but I actually think he is wayyyy better than Morris. I'm pretty sure I witnessed Darius miss about 4 or 5 easy layups.

Duhon is FAR better than Morris. Duhon may actually be better than Blake at this point...he is very adept at running the offense, but his defense and effort is just awful at times. Blake seems to give 100% of effort on D. But yes, a bench of Jamison, Meeks, Hill, Duhon, Blake is not terrible at all.

Steve Blake would have bricked half of those 3's Duhon made. Each PG has its ups and down; well, except for Morris who is a piece of trash all around.
