Actually WE as a team defended quite well in the half court and Dwight defended well holding Cousins to 7 points.

But they scored 50 points in the paint to our 22. How Gasol hurts us on defense was more evident tonight than it has been all season to be honest and it's why Mitch is trying to unload him for Smith, not for Smith's offense but his defense.

People may say he didn't give up all 50 points but he had a lot to do with why they scored 50 in the paint. Because of his inability to switch, his inability to watch the ball and the players, and his reluctance to play on someone. Cousins had 7 points the whole game. 4 of them were on Gasol in the final pivotal moments of the game -_-

Gasol has been sucking on D this entire season he needs to go he's been garbage since Phil's last year.

Interior defense and lack there of by Pau Gasol WAS the problem tonight. The only reason that gets fixed is if Gasol grows a pair to learn how to play defense or is traded for a better defensive 4.

he's getting older and slower and has never been a good defender but he's just not giving any good defensive effort whatsoever.

LIke I said, his defense is lazier because he's counting on a 100% Dwight Howard to make up for his defensive limitabilities like everyone else on the magic is. But Dwight isn't THERE yet so Pau needs to step up defensively but he shows no desire to at all.

Pau was by far the worst, but the Lakers shouldn't need help every time. Sometimes Kobe, Metta, and even the young guy Morris need to stop their man on their own.

That's why the Lakers' problems are bigger than people can even imagine. The Lakers are terrible on defense in every facet. Our initial perimeter defense is terrible, and help defense from our bigs is also terrible.

Mike D'antoni basically saying the only reason the Kings won was because the team didn't come out with the right mentality and that if we come out aggressive next time we'll destroy them. I do like his faith in our team. As a bulk of our problems ARE mental. But Pau's defense IS a problem. Not as big of a problem if Dwight was 100% but he isn't and Pau's laziness on defense is all the more apparent.

Pau was terrible defensively, just absolutely horrid. Not only was he late on all his rotations (like usual), but he was getting beaten off the dribble by Cousins at the end and Jason Thompson was backing him in all the way from 8 feet out. Just horrid defense from him. Our interior was so weak tonight.

Honestly, I was expecting this loss. The Kings always step it up against us in SAC, we had a game last night, and the Kings were on a 5 game losing streak to this point. The fact that we were still in it so late was almost shocking to me based on how terrible we were all night long.
