Well that's not surprising because Kobe and Pau are like brothers. They won two championships together, but Pau needs to get his act together and start playing like we know he can consistently. I'm not quite ready to give up on him yet because it's still very early in the season and because we haven't really seen him play with Nash alot yet, but if he doesn't start picking it up soon then we may have to move on.
It's not 1 season tho, it's 2 going on 3 seasons

I love Pau and he is a great guy, great teammate, but face it Manaro,he is past his prime. I would love that he starts playing again like he did,and certainly hoped he will after he demolished USA "centers" in Olympics final, and after playing good all tournament, but once season started,he was back to his old Pau from last two seasons.
guess you right but then what is it with all the spaniards after they get to 30 year old period they let their career slip away?
gasol, calderon, garbajosa...they lose and get lack of production i guess

I understand that, but in those last two seasons he's never played with a great point guard like Steve Nash or an offensive guru like Mike D'Antoni. All I'm saying is let's see how he does when Nash gets back and under D'Antoni before we trade him. If he's still struggling than I think the Lakers will try to move him. Won't be easy though because not many teams will want a guy in the wrong side of 30 and with a toxic 19 million dollar contract. It's not 1 season tho, it's 2 going on 3 seasons

It's not an excuse, it's a fact. Pau has never played with a point guard like Steve Nash before. Nash has made a living of making players around him better throughout his terrific career. I don't see why he can't do the same with Pau.He never played with a true point when he was productive either.

Are there teams that are a top 5 center away from being a contender?

He doesn't really support him, he just says this so he won't play worse...
LOL

How does having Nash on this team change his effort, boxing-out , and defense. It's not an excuse, it's a fact. Pau has never played with a point guard like Steve Nash before. K-Love, Aldridge, Paul Milsap, Dirk, and thats just a few.
Dirk played HORRIBLE last year and his defense is even worst than Paus
Pau is a better rebounder and passer than Aldridge
Milsap is the only player that could be better than Pau all around the board

Dirk played horrible because he participated with the german squad at the Euro cup which was a big fault for him and his body after the long championship season with the mavs. I know that. He told the german newspapers
No excuses, play like a champion.

In my opinion Gasol is an elite PF. There are guys who are better at certain things but all around Pau is pretty damn good still. Gasol out-rebounds guys like Aldridge, is a better defender than guys like Griffin, is a better post player than guys like Ryan Anderson, is a better passer than just about anyone else at the position. It just depends on what your team needs, all those guys can do something better than Pau, but what's important is that their strength matches the Lakers needs.
Obviously he's not the best PF, I'd say he's behind Love, Griffin, probably Aldridge, maybe Bosh, maybe Millsap. He's in the conversation for top 5 though.

its because Griffin has an inconsistent mid range game, no post game, no defense, flops and I hate his [expletive]ing guts.Statistically Blake Griffin is better as well, kinda surprised that name wasn't on the lists.

Id rather have love, Aldridge, Milsap, and bosh on this team right now.

Nash is going to play power forward too?
