As for Amare we'll have to see how he does this is just basketball if he really wants to and he sacrifices gets his head straight him and Melo should be able to coexist without it being detrimental to the team. Individually Melo has played great at times with Amare there it's Amare who seems to struggle with Melo. And I'm sure they'll be separated a lot anyway I think the biggest concern for Amare which people don't talk about enough is him constantly getting injured.
Their def contenders to me though in the East besides Miami and potentially Boston nobody is better than the Knicks.

As long as they are playing Carmelo at the four, they are contenders.
Melo has Chandler at center, and it is a great pairing
Amare should be moved
Houston would be a nice place for him, pairing amare with asik on the front-line would be good for them, and would give Houston another star, on the discount I am guessing the Knicks would give to get rid of him

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.
You should reach more often
