Good games and bad games are a part of the general. So to disqualify all the good games and say "if he didn't have good games he'd have done this" as a whole, his numbers are pretty close to his career statistics. We can't just say "if he didn't have good games." because he has.

AGAIN, he's shooting 36% and 31% from 3, still below his career numbers. You do have a point that we shouldn't expect him to be efficient since he hasn't had great efficiency during his career, but that means he shouldn't be shooting as much as he is either. His declining defense makes it tougher to bear.

Metta's defense is better? I still see him get torched by quicker players, not getting out on shooters, and not recovering fast enough on screens.

He definitely got torched by Batum already this season, the only really good SF he's faced against so far.

Metta has played solid defense, the only two games he really got burned were against Utah and against the Clippers. Against Utah he wasn't getting much help off the screens and against the Clippers he was in foul trouble and couldn't play that aggressively and I'm sure we remember that. he went a couple games in foul trouble early and still nearly playing 40 minutes.


Fact is he hasn't been a slouch and we can bring up the Jack performance(which I mentioned earlier) and the Clippers game in foul trouble just as he was in Portland. Other than that he's been a nightmare for people at that position and is averaging more steals than he ever has as a Laker thus far


but I digress.

You forgot his worst performance, against Portland. That's 3 awful performances out of 8 games. And he's only faced one really good SF in those 8 games.

Averaging a lot of steals doesn't really say how good of a man-to-man defender somebody is. Iverson always got a lot of steals, and nobody would say he was a good defender. People who gamble a lot usually average more steals than people who don't.

I'm too lazy to look it up right now but there's been a few games he's shot the same amount or more than Howard

I understand you like his hustle and energy but I don't see how you can defend him about how much he shoots

when he's shooting 30% from 3 that means he sucks at shooing 3's and needs to try passing the ball more! If he wants to continue to shoot this much he needs to practice his shot till he can hit around 40% 3 PT

Gerald Wallace isn't that much younger than MWP and no way we get Deng straight up. Plus, I highly doubt that Brooklyn gives up their quickness for MWP.

gerald wallace to mwp isn't the same as andrew bynum to dwight howard.
