Now I usually don't take anything from Bleacher Report seriously, but this was a good article. They break down and predict each players' new role in D'Antoni's new system. For those of you who don't have time to read it through, they expect a lot from Morris, Meeks, Jamison, and Hill. They also say that once Nash comes back, we might not see much of Steve Blake. Also, Metta needs to work on his 3 ball or he will hurt the offense. Pau should be good to go in this offense, much like Amare was used with Shaq.

Mike D'Antoni is the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, a move hardly any saw coming, shaking up Purple and Gold's dynamic significantly.
According to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times, Phil Jackson was "asking for the moon" and the Lakers weren't prepared to give it to him, opting for D'Antoni instead.

What does this mean for Los Angeles' offense?

Everything, and then some.

While D'Antoni's defensive schemes remain widely discredited or non-existent, his offensive blueprint—known as the "seven seconds or less system"—is borderline worshipped. Steve Nash won two NBA MVP awards within it and Kobe Bryant traipsed his way to a gold medal at the Olympics with it this past summer.

But that was then, with the Phoenix Suns and Team USA. This is now, with a Lakers team still searching for a dominant identity.

A dominant identity that cannot be established until each player's role within D'Antoni's offense is sufficiently understood.

Amare wasn't though. He took 0.3 per game....

I think you're missing the point. That doesn't mean Pau becomes a 3 point shooter.

Not saying he wont get traded though. I think they'll let this play out, then make that decision. Seems more logical.

Pau won't be a three point shooter, he'll just be taking more mid range shots at times.

HOWEVER here is the thing when the bench is out there we'll be running a lineup of

Morris
Meeks
Jamison
Hill
Gasol

In this scenario and lineup we'll be running something similar to the 7 second stuff D'antoni is known for and Gasol will be the pick and roll player going to the basket. So don't worry at all.
