Mike will probably want his brother too possibly but I think bernie, Mcmillan would be great assistants.

Yea we have a chance to have a very solid coaching staff now. I prefer having a offensive minded coach. I find that coaches who say there defensive guru's(mike brown) tend to just say that because they dont know anything about offense. I know thats not always true but I will always prefer a guy who know offense over defense. There just so much you can coach on defense really. Best thing you can do is just motivate your players to give good effort. I think bernie does a good job at motivating this team as well. He really demands his players to play hard from what I saw from the last 2 games. I really hope we keep him

I hope he gets to stay also. Cuz he got my message about how to fix the lineup rotations for LA to give the team a better chance to keep leads & win gms. Now Id rather see Ebanks get time over meeks, morris, & 36 mins for MWP but at least he changed up from Browns stubborn rotation ways each quarter.

He says his brother, Dan, will be joining the Lakers’ coaching staff but the rest of the staff should remain intact.

He hasn’t talked to defensive-minded coach Nate McMillan, but he says he intends to this summer, although he wouldn’t be surprised if McMillan is head coach by that time elsewhere.

I think D'antoni's brother will be replacing Eddie. If not and he just adds his brother to the entire coaching staff I wonder what he's gonna do with it. Steve Clifford's defensive mind SHOULD be looked into. He's another Tibbs. It would be foolish to let him go.

Thats why many people are so puzzled as to why Phil was just ignored. Phil is a better fit for this team than Antoni is. Whats strange is he got a call at 12:01 by Mitch who told him Antoni had been hired when Phil just a day prior told them he would tell them the answer and was going to accept the coaching spot.

( the opening was PJ wanting to wait a day to make a final decision) There was no reason to hurry and sign Mike, Mike was going nowhere, it was just a cheap shot at PJ. classless move by Jim, Jim Buss to me just seems like a creepy dude. Right now I do not feel that Laker pride...

Nothing funny about the way the Laker management namely Jim Buss handled the PJ situation...and if the lakers defense does not improve especially on the road the Lakers will be running a lot of half court sets....

Yes, Jim Buss created a big mess by bringing in Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. He made an even bigger mess by having the balls to fire a coach who he brought in and supported ever since day 1 (Mike Brown). Mitch, Jim, and Mike D. talked for about an hour and a half on the phone. I am positive they went over the personnel and how it will accommodate Mike's system. Mike will adjustments to his system. He is not going to have Kobe and Metta run up and down every possession. If it is there, make the outlet pass and push. If it is not there, slow it down and work the half-court offense. The thing about this hire is that this is Kobe approved, something the Mike Brown hire was not. Kobe and MD have a close relationship together. MD has been with Kobe ever since Kobe was in Italy. MD has worked with Nash in Phoenix, and Jordan Hill and Chris Duhon in New York. This is a good hire in my opinion.

J Buss set the Lakers back, wasted almost two years of Kobe career because he and he alone hired MB....and you give him credit for firing MB......

look, I do not believe just about anything that Mitch or Jim Say publicly, and Jerry Buss will do anything for his kids (wish I had a dad like jerry). Just like the hiring of MB was a decision agreed to by Jim, Jerry and Mitch ...it was clearly a Jim Buss decision all the way.
It's just my opinion, I have been on Gods green earth for a very long time and have experienced so much.....you kinda get a feel for when the truth is not being told.

Why wouldn't McMillan want to coach with the Lakers.


Just being on the staff as an assistant keeps your name in everyone's ear and it's hard to turn down working with a defensive stud/anchor like Dwight Howard...

I can understand him not wanting to commit long-term but that could be negotiated into his contract now.
