PJ triangle teams killed by offensive rebounds, the Lakers and Bulls were always at the top of the offensive rebounding list. The tri offense is designed to make sure you get a decent look and that the defense gets turned around and mixed up which leads to the easy baskets, offenseive rebounding baskets, and also makes it easier to get back on defense because of the quality of the shots taken.....
What a mess Jim Buss has created......

Thats why many people are so puzzled as to why Phil was just ignored. Phil is a better fit for this team than Antoni is. Whats strange is he got a call at 12:01 by Mitch who told him Antoni had been hired when Phil just a day prior told them he would tell them the answer and was going to accept the coaching spot. When you try to run/put up shots quickly, Mike D. style, with a slow team, (in fact JVG calls the Lakers the slowest team in the NBA) then how do you get back on defense when the misses hit the heal or front of the rim and kick long with that slow team? This Laker team is not suited for Mike D'Antoni offense, Gasol and MWP running the wings and then pulling up for the jumper?????

Expect it's not done yet so expect some players to be moved at the deadline.

yeah cause we're totally gonna run the 7 second offense and we're totally not gonna have any half court sets at all...
You're funny.
If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.
You should reach more often

It amazes how many people have jumped to the conclusion that we'll be running that offense. I mean will it be more up-tempo? Of course, that's D'Antoni's style.
But D'Antoni is smart enough to know which personnel he has here in LA now. I for one am excited to see what D'Antoni has planned. Be a little more uptempo, but at the same time go with some half court sets that allows our bigs to do damage down low is what I am thinking we'll see.
We'll see at his press conference what the plan is exactly. You know this will be one of the first questions asked.

Yes, Jim Buss created a big mess by bringing in Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. He made an even bigger mess by having the balls to fire a coach who he brought in and supported ever since day 1 (Mike Brown). Mitch, Jim, and Mike D. talked for about an hour and a half on the phone. I am positive they went over the personnel and how it will accommodate Mike's system. Mike will adjustments to his system. He is not going to have Kobe and Metta run up and down every possession. If it is there, make the outlet pass and push. If it is not there, slow it down and work the half-court offense. The thing about this hire is that this is Kobe approved, something the Mike Brown hire was not. Kobe and MD have a close relationship together. MD has been with Kobe ever since Kobe was in Italy. MD has worked with Nash in Phoenix, and Jordan Hill and Chris Duhon in New York. This is a good hire in my opinion.
KOBE. #VINO. BRYANT.

When can we start trading for runners and shooters???
Jamison and Meeks off the bench isn't enough for you? With Nash and Kobe in the starting lineup?

assistants- bernie, Mcmillan
Mike will probably want his brother too possibly but I think bernie, Mcmillan would be great assistants.
