Lakers get:
Danilo Gallinari
Kenneth Faried
Wilson Chandler
Denver gets:
Pau Gasol
Darius Johnson-Odom
A draft pick if necessary
Why the Lakers do it:
The Lakers get the sweet-shooting Gallinari, who would better space the floor for Dwight in the post and gives their starting line-up an official 3 point threat. Faried gives them tremendous youth, rebounding, and hustle. He could either start at SF (moving Artest to the bench) or come off the pine, combining with Jordan Hill to give us the most energetic bench in the league. Another good thing about Faired is that he can play the PF slot if the Lakers ever play small ball. Wilson Chandler is mainly there to make the salaries work, but he could be useful as a scorer off the bench.
Why the Nuggets do it:
Denver gets a legitimate star in Gasol who, combined with JaVale McGee, gives them a long, athletic front court. With a starting five of Ty Lawson, Andre Iguodala, Corey Brewer, Pau Gasol, and Javale McGee, the Nuggets would be instant contenders while also giving them flexibility in a couple years when Pau's contract runs up.
