Lets just admit it; Mike Brown isn't getting it done and with his weird rotations and the imminent losing of the trust of his players, he is bound to be canned.

Who should be his replacement?

IMO, there are three players that stick out:

Phil Jackson, the greatest coach of all time. Probably a long shot, but one can dream...

Larry Brown who have won titles both in the NCAA and NBA have had both Greg Popovich and Coach K as assistants. He can coach defense and can handle egos.

Jerry Sloan is another guy who would be awesome. He is tough as nails and will get the most out of all his players - especially Nash and Howard.

Any other ideas?

I think it may still be a tad early. I'll give it another 3-5 games. If the Lakers play poorly and lose 3 of the next 5 I could see it becoming a reality.

I know it's not likely to bring Phil back, but my choices in order are:

  • Phil Jackson
  • Jerry Sloan
  • Brian Shaw
  • Larry Brown
  • Nate McMillan
  • Jeff Van Gundy
