Morris' contract runs out after this season, and Duhon has one extra year...so I wouldn't say that one will be our backup for a long time. For all we know, Morris could be overseas next year, while Duhon turns into Aaron McKie and sits our bench as a player/coach (or, is traded, which I hope happens to both very soon).

With Nash, we do have a nice PG...but it will hurt us in the long run, because simply put, we don't have the assets to trade for one anymore (can't trade Gasol for one yet, since we have Nash...no point in that, leaves us with a hole up front), and we don't have any decent draft picks to use for one. Free agency will have to do, and right now, I can't say we're looking like we can guarantee a curious free agent PG a chance at a championship.

Well by long time i mean long time this season. I highly doubt we have any future with either.

The bigger the role, the harder they fall. Bench players can come in and play good for 2-3 games, maybe some even a week or two, but they always hit the dirt once teams figure out how they fit into an offense + how they attack them on the other side of the ball.

It's similar to the 2011 Cavaliers, when they first came out of the gates without LeBron James. They looked good, beat the defending EC champs in Boston...and then, well, they fell hard.

Same with the Charlotte Bobcats this season, who are now among the worst in the NBA again after a couple of weeks of playing pretty solid basketball.

It has been obvious for a long time now: backup at best, D-League for now. He plays out of control, he can't run an offense, he can't score without being spoon-fed, he can't hit contested shots, and he's not that great of a defensive player. You'll continue to see it as long as he's playing, also, and he'll eventually have another decent game or so, and I'm sure someone will get all excited for him, but it's never going to change. Sorry.

Goudelock has worst defense than a our over the hill PGs in duhon and blake and our problem is defense right about now it seems like a genius move to cut a player who can't play a lick of defense and can't even shoot consistently and he's not going to get picked up by ANY TEAMS

How do you defend his play so far in recent weeks? No made 3s since DEC 18 seriously hes been a complete dud since Nash returned how do you defend that? come on

Agree. Goudelock was atrocious at defense. He bit on every jab step,pump fake, pass fake, etc. It was pitiful..a terrible waste of a draft pick.

We brought him here to shoot. We drafted him when we still had Mike Brown. We were planning to play inside-out. Why do you think we signed Troy Murphy? Jason Kapono?

You said he was a terrible draft pick. He was drafted 46th overall (2nd round). How many of those players turn into studs? Not many. With those players, they are "prospects". You draft them and hope they can develop over time.

Manu and Gilbert are examples of second round studs and there were a lot of talented second round picks last year... Chandler Parson and others!.. we could have a more talented team if we had better scouts

What's their to defend he's a developing PLAYER that's finally getting more minutes than he did last year... Either he's going to get it or not and all players go through streaks either they get out of them or stay in them... I'm not worried too much about him honestly I'm more worried about his defense to be honest

You don't pick an undersized two guard who can't guard his own position. If you're drafting that low, you want someone who can at least rebound and hustle - a wing/slasher would have been much more proper.
