I really hope the front office isn't that stupid. If they made that trade we'd never see defense again. I can't imagine them doing a deal that makes us worse on the court and also from a financial standpoint.

If we're talking about taking on bad contracts, why not Boozer? He makes less, he's healthy, and he seems more at home being primarily a mid-range jump shooter. He's also a better rebounder.

The Bulls also have nice players they can throw in to make it worth it for the Lakers.

Just like with Amare, Boozer is even worse defensively than Pau and is a downgrade as a player. No reason to make either deal.

With other players coming back with either A'mare or Boozer, it makes it worth it. Pau isn't even much better than those 2 guys anymore.

LOL, and despite the overwhelming disapproval of most. i think amare would fit great, alot more mobile than gasol, has a better mid range and face up game(so there will be no complaining about low post touches) as well as a better fit for this system and P&R with nash. i think defensively we don't need him to be a world beater although i've seen when he focuses on defense, he can be pretty good. plus im pretty sure he will be worse than gasol, since he's alot more mobile and athletic.

but they do have a ton of depth. if we landed shumpert and somehow JR smith we'd be set. shumpert has loads of potential and smith can fill it up better than anyone off the bench in the league not named crawford
