The only thing Pau is being blamed for is HIS OWN performance. Every year, people act like this is something new with him and that he deserves a pass.

He's failed when it matters most more than once and there's absolutely ZERO reason to believe he'll turn it around. A different coach, scheme, etc can't make Pau tough.

Yeah, Pretty much. Dude has been absent since 3 seasons ago (well two and 9 games into this season)

Combine that with last season's abysmal playoff performance along with his terrible playoff performance the year before that and you have the current Pau Gasol.

Until this season, I thought Pau was still ok. He was awful during the last 2 postseasons, but you can't dismiss that he was able to put up decent overall numbers throughout the last 2 seasons.

This season though, it's really hard to defend him. He's taken a big step back on offense and he's terrible on defense. It's still early, but people are just tired of seeing this from him.

Well we need to go ahead and trade this dude. The last couple of seasons he's been in trade rumors, he has used it as an excuse not to focus. We don't have time for that BS this season. Plus we need to establish chemistry with his replacement

Hes essentially become the Lamar Odom of the team...just like Lamar hes had trouble being the Number 2 guy behind Kobe. So they lessened his responsibilities and brought in Howard and Nash. Pau just like LO gives you a solid 10 rebounds a game, plays decent one on one defense, he facilitates the ball and what not. Both are overpaid (Lamar was slightly overpaid haha ask GCMD ) but they fill their role perfectly since they allow the best players to be their best and they dont committ many mistakes. Obviously Lamar's 9 or 10 mil was easier to handle with a reduced role but Pau is eaning twice as that with the penalties being more harsh in today's NBA for carrying a heavy payroll

Just like LO hes basically our only valuable trade chip left. Hopefully Pau makes himself invaluable to the team...play himself out of the trade scenario but we've been asking of this for the last 2 years and instead his play suffers because of trade rumors

I think it will be decided on the deadline whether Pau is staying or leaving. If we're a winning team, they won't break up a main peice - even if he's not out there doing what we want him to do. If we're on track to being a .500 team (which I doubt) then I think we move Pau and/or other guys like Blake, Duhon, Ebanks.

It's a long shot, but hopefully the T'Wolves lose a lot more to the point where Love requests a trade out of Minnesota. They are dealing with injuries obviously including Love, but the Lakers could make a serious run at him if he becomes available at some point.

Why would Minnesota want Gasol?

1. It would get them out of that big Love contract he signed recently

2. They would get Gasol the year before his contract year. Big expiring contract that can be run out for free agency or traded for pieces.

3. Pair Gasol with fellow Spaniard Ricky Rubio.


Hell maybe we can even get someone like Derrick Williams and bring him off the bench. It's a long shot but still a possibility

Love, has no chance of being traded here. You say MASSIVE contract they gave him opt out in his 3rd year and only signed him to 4 years. He can be a free agent in 2015. The only thing about Gasol for Love that makes sense for the Twolves is the fact that they have Rubio. The chances are like 0.0001% nothing short of a pipe dream. Im sure Twolves can get beter than "Pau Gasol". Plus there is no pressure "Now" for Twolves to trade him now. Its not like Howard where he had 1 year left on his contract or CP3 with 1 year left. Kevin Love still has 3 full seasons before he can opt out. Why in the world would they trade him now?

I think we will have a lot of cap in 2015 and we have a chance to lure him here. But were not getting him in a trade.
