He may take a discount to play for the Lakers, but how much of a discount? Imagine if we trade Pau for Smith and then Dwight decides to leave anyway. We'd be forced to overpay or let him walk.

That's a problem, you know. Letting him leave for nothing.

I think the only way we keep Dwight, is if we make the playoffs. If we don't make the playoffs, i think Mitch and Jimbo are forced to trade him for the simple reason that letting him walk for nothing is unacceptable.
I'd rather have Kevin Love on a long-term deal, than rolling the dice with Howard.

I agree the guy is not worth anywhere near max. I think people want to trade Pau for anything people were saying amnesty him beofre the season started so nothing is surprising.

Smith would be a great addition to the team, I'm sure Lakers can come to a nice agreement about his contract if we do ultimately go through trying to get him.

Heres my take on pau right now. Unless we get a legit trade offer like rudy gay or josh smith or even a really good package of players I think we just deal with him this season. He has put together a good couple of games off the bench but I highly doubt this will continue.

Worst thing this team can do it count on gasol on preforming. Last year this kind of game wouldn't be anything special for him so its not like he's playing amazing. Though for coming off the bench he's doing exactly what we need from him.

Again if gay,smith, or good package deal is offered take it, if not wait till offseason and get the best deal.
